A WEB COMPATIBLE FILE SERVER FOR MEASUREMENT AND TELEMETRY NETWORKS

Miller, Matthew J., Freudinger, Lawrence C. 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 20-23, 2003 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / There is a gulf that separates measurement and telemetry applications from the full benefits of Internet style communication. Whereas the Web provides ubiquitous infrastructure for the distribution of file-based “static” data, there is no general Web solution for real-time streaming data. At best, there are proprietary products that target consumer multimedia and resort to custom point-to-point data connections. This paper considers an extension of the static file paradigm to a dynamic file and introduces a streaming data solution integrated with the existing file-based infrastructure of the Web. The solution approach appears to maximize platform and application independence leading to improved application interoperability potential for large or complex measurement and telemetry networks.

Design of a Low-Cost Data Acquisition System for Rotordynamic Data Collection

Pellegrino, Gregory S 01 March 2019 (has links)
A data acquisition system (DAQ) was designed based on the use of a STM32 microcontroller. Its purpose is to provide a transparent and low-cost alternative to commercially available DAQs, providing educators a means to teach students about the process through which data are collected as well as the uses of collected data. The DAQ was designed to collect data from rotating machinery spinning at a speed up to 10,000 RPM and send this data to a computer through a USB 2.0 full-speed connection. Multitasking code was written for the DAQ to allow for data to be simultaneously collected and transferred over USB. Additionally, a console application was created to control the DAQ and read data, and MATLAB code written to analyze the data. The DAQ was compared against a custom assembled National Instruments CompactDAQ system. Using a Bentley-Nevada RK 4 Rotor Kit, data was simultaneously collected using both DAQs. Analysis of this data shows the capabilities and limitations of the low cost DAQ compared to the custom CompactDAQ.

Laboratorní zdroj s rozhraním USBTMC / USBTMC bench power supply

Sehnálek, Lubomír January 2016 (has links)
This thesis was selected due to establishing of universal platform for USBTMC remote instrumentation and constructing a laboratory DC power supply for hobby use. This thesis is focused on design and realization of regulated linear DC power supply. At first thesis mentions kinds of DC power supplies and kinds of interfaces used for test and measurement instruments. Thesis continues by describing of blocks of a developed linear DC power supply with an USB interface following the USBTMC specification for remote control. Thesis ends by realization of the regulated linear DC power supply with USBTMC interface. It was achieved acceptable results. Communication between PC and Control module works well as same as communication between Control module and Power supply module. Maximum output ranges of voltage and current are 40V and 3A. Big interference on auxiliary supply rail decreases accuracy.

NOVÉ PRINCIPY CHARAKTERIZACE HRADLOVÝCH KAPACIT PRO SIGMA-DELTA MODULÁTORY / NEW PRINCIPLES OF GATE CAPACITANCE CHARACTERIZATION FOR SIGMA-DELTA MODULATORS

Sutorý, Tomáš January 2009 (has links)
This thesis deals with the utilization of new principles of characterization of gate capacitances for sigma-delta modulators. Sigma-delta modulators are the integral part of sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters. The proposed new method is characterized by high resolution and modest requirements for laboratory equipment. It allows characterizing capacitances whose values are within the range which is used in sigma-delta modulators. The thesis contains description of the new method, the analysis of measurement accuracy and experimental results.
