Modelling and Analysis of Daylight, Solar Heat Gains and Thermal Losses to Inform the Early Stage of the Architectural Process / Modellering och analys av dagsljus, solvärmelaster och värmeförluster i tidiga arkitektoniska projektskeden

Baker, Nicholas January 2017 (has links)
The EU building sector is a main contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, which need to be cut as part of the global response to anthropogenic climate change. This cut can be realised through improvements in building energy performance, such as optimisation of facade design. The early stage of the architectural process has been identified as the ideal time to implement such sustainable design choices. There is need for simple guidelines and tools to provide quantitative data to support these architectural decisions. BIM and parametric design can provide this, by facilitating model-based analysis and simulation, as part of an unbroken flow of information through the design process. This study uses Dynamo (the visual programming add-in for Autodesk Revit) together with the Honeybee and Ladybug environmental plugins, to conduct daylight, solar heat gains and thermal losses analyses and simulations. The aim was to identify limitations and opportunities in using Dynamo-Revit, to establish an optimal range for glazing-to-wall ratio (GWR) and to provide some simple room-sizing guidelines for architects in the early stage of the design process. The Dynamo-Revit workflow was found to be effective for specific projects, but difficult to perfect for multiple different projects. An optimal range for GWR was found as 30-40% for east, south and west-facing rooms and around 50% for rooms facing only north. Results were tabulated, linking room orientation and depth with estimated daylight access, solar heat gains and thermal losses. The results were reasonable, but could be improved by the use of more sophisticated analysis and simulation techniques, which should be facilitated by forthcoming development of Honeybee and Ladybug in Dynamo.

Analýza spojů proudovodiče při měření proudu ve VN aplikacích / Analysis of current lead joints inside HV current transformers

Pálka, Marek January 2016 (has links)
The main focus of the dissertation thesis is determine the size of the fastening screw connection and fastening torque of the connection, which will be applied during assembly of the instrument current transformers and sensors. The large part of thesis is an experimental measurement of the proposed configurations of connections and modelling (simulating) certain model of connections in Ansys and SolidWorks analysis programs. The result of the dissertation will be design of tightening of the connection according to transient resistance and thermal losses.

Parní kotel na biomasu menších výkonů / Steam Grate Biomass Boiler

Suchánková, Lenka January 2021 (has links)
The master's thesis describes the design of the steam boiler, which burns biomass with heat output of 6 MW. The required parameters of the steam are a temperature of 300 °C and a pressure of 2,5 MPa. The thesis is gradually devoted to stoichiometric calculations through heat losses and boiler efficiency, to the design of the combustion chambre, heat exchangers and pressure losses. Part of the thesis is drawing documentation of the boiler.

Исследование тепловой и экологической эффективности работы оборудования цеха №1 минераловатных плит завода «Эковер» : магистерская диссертация / Research of thermal and ecological performance of the workshop №1 equipment of the mineral-wool plates plant «Ekover»

Kholzakov, D. A., Холзаков, Д. А. January 2014 (has links)
In the thesis researches of overall performance of the polymerization furnace of Uralasbest plant are executed. The existing thermal scheme and a design of the furnace is considered, thermal calculation is carried out and technical solutions on improvement of thermal and ecological characteristics of the furnace operation are proposed. Researches showed that ecological characteristics mineral-wool production doesn't satisfy to requirements to environmental standards, and for decrease in emissions of nitrogen oxides more effective burner system is proposed. On the basis of the executed measurements and balance calculations technical actions on decrease in thermal losses with the leaving gases are offered.
