"Princesa do Madeira": Os festejos entre as populações ribeirinhas de Humaitá/AM. / "Princess of the Madeira" - the festivities of the peasant populations wich live on the shores of the Madeira River in Humaitá, State of Amazonas.

Corrêa, Maria Terezinha 25 November 2002 (has links)
This work intends to analize the two principal festivities of the peasant populations which live on the shores of the Madeira River in Humaitá, State of Amazonas. It concerns the festivities of Nossa Senhora da Imaculada Conceição and of Santo Antônio. Two versions deal with the origins of the location on which the festivities occur: one official, another indigenous. The first version is an account of the foundation of the municipality, the "Princess of the Madeira". The second refers to a time prior to the foundation, when the location was known as the "Porto da Anta" by the indigenous Parintintin. Assuming these two versions as starting points, this research investigates the festivities as total social facts. Liminal elements, which are detected in the festivities, permit us to discuss different regimes of exchange which are significant to the populations which take part in the festivities. The attempt is made to interpret webs of meaning which emerge during the festivities, as well as the social tensions which are there revealed. By means of these festivities, homage every year these saints become the recipients of expressions of gratitude for the benefits bestowed on the population and for the renewal of blood and spiritual kinship relations. These two festivities coincide with the beginnings of seasonal cycles of the Amazon, and are deeply related to the daily lives of peasants populations of the region.

Jeu en triangle : Football, politique et identités dans l'espace post-yougoslave des années 1980 à nos jours / Triangle game : Football, Politics and Identities in the Post-Yugoslav Space from the 1980s to the Present

Trégourès, Loïc 14 February 2017 (has links)
Football fans from Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia started turning into soldiers from 1991. Football fans were on the frontline against police during Milosevic’s fall as well as in the opposition to Croatian president Tudjman. Football fans were able to mobilize in huge numbers with extreme violence against gay pride parades. Football fans assaulted and set the US embassy in Belgrade on fire in 2008. These facts are at the crossroads between football through the actors at stake, politics through their aims and meanings, and identity regarding the founding ideas upon which they rely. It is therefore throughout those facts that interactions between the football world and the political world are a legitimate question to raise. It shall be dealt with not only by taking into account a broad period from the end of communist Yugoslavia to nowadays, but also in a comparative approach between the different states born from Yugoslavia’s collapse. Thus, far from being a futile occupation and an illegitimate social science object, it is necessary to take football seriously regarding the two roles it plays, first as an observation window, second as a political agent of change. Therefore, not only through football but also by football will it be possible to draw a transversal political analysis, be it on the politicisation process from the bottom, on the persistence of an ethno-nationalist paradigm, on whether 2000 can be deemed a deep break in the period from 1991 to nowadays, and on authoritarian practices in the region regardless of the European integration process.

The general objective of this work was to organize a field of knowledge related to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, through its health standard which is a reflex of its cosmogony, aiming to the depth of the Adventist identity. To this end, it describes the rising of the church among the social reform and American religious revivals of the eighteen century. Introduces Ellen G. White, the charismatic character accept by the emerging group as having the Gift of Prophecy, co-founder of the church and defender of a peculiar health standard, based on her explicit visions. Health is discussed within the Adventist cosmogony: its therapeutic values and theological basis; compared to the holistic standard defended by Capra to the Adventist White s standard. Finally, the analysis was based on the anthropological theory of illness, by François Laplantine, answering the questions related the identity of being Adventist which is recognized by a number of health related advises, that guide not only the practical life, but also the religious life of its followers. Such guidelines form the Adventist religiosity, together with the eminent religious elements which base the daily behavior of the individuals. This work was built on bibliographic research enclosing the areas of health, religion, sociology and anthropology, through which were studied the concept of health, illness and cosmogony.
