Blood vessel growth is mediated by angiogenesis, which is defined as the formation of new blood vessel out of existing vessels, as well as vasculogenesis, a process that circulating progenitor cells contributes to adult neovascularization. Cilostazol, a commercially available drug holding antiplatelet and vasodilating effects, increases intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels through inhibiting the activity of phosphodiesterase 3. Interestingly, this chemical compound has a lot of cellular effects. In current work, we demonstrated that cilostazol promoted proliferation and migration of human umbilical cord vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), enhanced in-vitro vascular tube formation, and increased releasing of cAMP and NO from them. Furthermore, cilostazol activated eNOS and PI3-K/Akt signaling pathways. We also examined the angiogenic and vasculogenic effects of cilostazol in a murine hindlimb ischemia model. Our data showed that cilostazol enhanced angiogenesis and vasculogenesis with resultant flow recovery after murine hindlimb ischemia partly mediated by promoting mobilization of bone marrow-derived stem cells into circulation and increasing in situ expression of some proteins involved in angiogenesis. In addition, cilostazol significant increased colony forming unit of human endothelial progenitor cells. These results are unique and clinically significant with potential in translational therapy. According to our report, further preclinical and clinical studies of cilostazol on the other ischemic situations such as myocardial infarction will be justified.

The aim of the paper is to investigate how the dual brand of firm decides its optimal allocation of advertising and fundamental strategy of marketing under taking account of markets with multi-consumption externalities. We assume that the market is multi-consumption externalities, and advertising may function as a device to coordinate consumer expectations of the purchasing decisions of other consumers, which is different from the past assumption that consumer type is single and role of advertising in market. Therefore, we reexamine the firm with optimal allocation of advertising. Finally, we show that the firm will adapt different pricing, allocation of advertising and strategy of marketing when facing the different consumer type of combination proportion. If market is dissimilar consumption externalities, above statement will be more significant; On the contrary, if firm facing similar consumption externalities, the optimal is single strategy. In other words, it is independent to consumer's type of combination proportion.

Experiments were conducted in electroosmotic flow (EOF) with 0.005≤Re ≤ 0.039 on mixing enhancement in 3-D helical microchannels. Both inlet velocity and concentration distribution along the flow channel were measurement via £gPIV and £gLIF technique respectively. The experimental results showed that the helical channels can generate nearly fully chaotic flow and achieve the complete mixing in a relatively short channel with three different helical channels (3, 4, and 6 inlet channels), and the four-inlet channel found to have the best mixing efficiency. Finally, the mixing length was correlated into a form of £f/Dh = 2.8Pe0.35 within ¡Ó8% accuracy between the experiments and prediction.

Investigation on the chemical constituents of the EtOH extract of the soft coral Lobophytum sarcophytoides, collected off the coast of Dongsha Atoll, Taiwan, has led to the isolation of ten natural compounds 1¡V10, including four new cembrane-type diterpenoids, Sarcophytolins A¡VD (1¡V4) and one new polyhydroxylated steroid 23, 24-Dimethyl-cholesta-5, 16-diene-3£], 20£\-diol (5) along with five know compounds 6¡V10¡CThe structure of compounds 1¡V10 were established by detailed spectral data analysis (IR, MS, 1D, 2D NMR) and by comparison of the spectral data with those of the related known compounds. The relative stereochemistries of compound 5 was further confirmed by X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis. The cytotoxicity of compounds 1¡V10 against the Daoy (human medulloblastoma), Hep-2 (human laryngeal carcinoma), MCF-7 (human breast adenocarcinoma), CCRF-CEM (human T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia), and DLD-1/WiDr (human colon adenocarcinoma) tumor cell lines were determined. Compounds 6, 8, 9, and 10 exhibited moderate cytotoxicities against the tested tumor cells. Furthermore, compounds 1, 2, 4, 6, and 10 were found to show significant activity against the accumulation of the pro-inflammatory iNOS protein at 10 £gM.
