This article presents nano composite TiO2.Fe2O3/laterite materials, which were successfully prepared by hydrometallurgical method. The materials were modified using urea as the nitrogen source. The particles size of the materials is from 20-30 nanometers. The obtained materials can not only absorb arsenic compounds but also enhance the ability of converting As (III) or As (V) into Aso, which is removed from solution. Arsenic removal efficiency of these materials is high. Using sunlight in a hydraulic retention time, about 180 minutes, the arsenic value at the inflow was about 10 mg/L but the outflow was negligible. Covering TiO2.Fe2O3 nano on laterite have brought high economical efficiency, on one hand, it saved material and on the other hand, it can be continuously operated without the centrifugal separation of the nano material. / Bài báo này giới thiệu về phương pháp điều chế vật liệu nano TiO2.Fe2O3 biến tính nitơ được phủtrên đá ong bằng phương pháp thủy luyện. Vật liệu nano thu được có kích thước 20-30 nm. Vật liệu thu được không những có khả năng hấp phụ các hợp chất của asen mà còn có khả năng khử As (III) hoặc As (V) thành Asokhi được chiếu sáng. Sử dụng ánh sáng mặt trời chiếu vào hệ thống xử lý trong thời gian 180 phút có thể loại bỏ được gần như hoàn toàn asen ra khỏi nước mặc dù hàm lượng đầu vào là 10 mg/l. Việc phủ vật liệu TiO2.Fe2O3 nano lên đá ong đã mang lại hiệu quả kinh tế cao, một mặt nó tiết kiệm được vật liệu, mặt khác, vật liệu có thể sử dụng một cách liên tục mà không cần phải tách bằng phương pháp ly tâm.

Enteral nitrogen metabolism in the growing pig

An improved understanding of nitrogen metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract of the pig is required in order to provide accurate estimates of nitrogen and amino acid (AA) bioavailability in feed ingredients and for adequate diet formulation. Research objectives were to estimate the extent of fermentative AA catabolism (FAAC) in the upper gut of pigs. Further objectives were to determine the impact of lower gut nitrogen absorption on measures of apparent ileal digestibility of AA and nitrogen, whole-body nitrogen balance, and urea kinetics in pigs fed a valine-limiting diet. It was determined that simple isotope dilution calculations are inappropriate for determining ileal ammonia flux and FAAC from a continuous infusion of labelled ammonia and urea. A static model with two-pools (blood urea and digesta ammonia) was then developed to determine possible value ranges for FAAC in the upper gut of pigs. Maximum estimated FAAC based on this model was lower when dietary protein content was decreased (P < 0.001). The model presented is limited to minimum and maximum estimates of FAAC due to the sampling and isotope infusion protocol used. Refinements to the model and experimental protocol could allow for more accurate estimates of FAAC. Infusion of casein or urea into the lower gut of pigs did not affect measures of apparent ileal digestibility of AA or nitrogen. These results further validate the methodology available for determination of ileal digestibility and the use of ileal digestibility to estimate bioavailability of AA and nitrogen. Infusion of casein or urea into the lower gut resulted in an increase in nitrogen balance and urea flux in growing pigs fed a valine-limiting diet. Nitrogen absorbed from the lower gut of pigs is likely in the form of ammonia which is converted to urea. Lower gut nitrogen can contribute to whole-body protein deposition via urea recycling and microbial AA production in the upper gut. Urėja – vienas svarbiausių baltymų apykaitos produktų. Jį sintezuoja kepenys, o atrajotojams jis taip pat sintetinamas didžiojo prieskrandžio sienelėje iš amoniako, amino rūgščių ir amidų. Urėjos molekulė, maža ir neutrali, gali lengvai prasiskverbti į daugelį audinių. Ji laisvai praeina pro ląstelių membraną ir patenka į tarpląstelinį skystį, o iš ten – į kraujo plazmą ir laisvai filtruojasi šlapime. Palankiausia tyrimams terpė yra pienas, nes jis dažniausiai naudojamas įvairiems laboratoriniams tyrimams. Pieno urėja pradėta tirti ir duomenys apie šį rodiklį pradėti kaupti nuo 2002 m. sausio 1 d. Iki darbo pradžios 2006 m. jau buvo sukaupta daug tyrimo rezultatų. Analizei panaudoti patys naujausi 2006–2008 m. duomenys. Tai pirmas Lietuvoje atliktas visapusiškas urėjos rodiklio tyrimas, veisiamų karvių populiacijoje, panaudojant didelę duomenų imtį (5,4 mln. įrašų). Ir pirmą kartą Lietuvoje šiuolaikiniais tyrimų bei matematiniais ir genetiniais duomenų apdorojimo metodais įvertintos urėjos rodiklio kitimo priežastys, bei jos panaudojimo galimybės. Gautais rezultatais nustatyta urėjos kiekio įtaka reprodukcinėms karvių savybėms, aplinkos veiksnių įtaka urėjos kiekio kitimui, urėjos priklausomybė nuo karvių fiziologinės būklės, genetinė gyvulio įtaka urėjos kiekiui piene, urėjos koreliacija su kitais pieno sudėties ir kokybės rodikliais, urėjos kiekio paveldimumo koeficientas bei ištirta nevisaverčio ir subalansuoto racionų įtaka urėjos koncentracijai piene ir somatinių... To prepare proposals about the use of the research data about urea concentration for solution of ration balancing and cows healthiness problems. Main Objectives: 1. To evaluate the effect of non genetic factors on urea concentration in milk of the cows, bred in Lithuania. 2. To define the effect of congenerous copulation and heredity coefficient of milk urea. 3. To define the correlation of the heredity coefficients of milk urea and genetic correlation coefficients with milk production, composition and somatic cell count. 4. To define the relation between reproductive properties of cows and somatic cell count in milk and milk urea concentration. 5. To evaluate clinical importance of urea concentration for the prediction of cows’ healthiness and culling. 6. To study the effect of inadequate and balanced rations on urea concentration in milk and changes of somatic cell count during the experiment and at the level of the whole herd. Highly effective system for milk composition and quality evaluation is introduced in Lithuania. Studies were conducted to determine basic aspects of intake and digestion of native pastures by young sheep in the Falkland Islands, and to evaluate practical methods to improve the productivity of these animals. The studies were conducted in support of Industry and Government initiatives to reinvigorate Falklands’ agriculture. The current industry is based on broad diameter wools harvested from sheep grazing poor quality native pastures, and sheep suffer low growth rates, poor productivity and high mortality, and farmers rely on small flocks to produce a single commodity for their total income. The dramatic collapse of wool markets in the 1980’s crippled the Falklands’ wool industry and farmers have relied heavily on subsidies for more than 12 years. The studies in this thesis were initiated to support the efforts to reinvigorate Falklands’ agriculture, and they examined basic aspects of the nutrition provided to sheep by native pastures and evaluated practical methods to improve the survival of sheep, their subsequent rate of growth and productive value to the economy. Five studies examined specific hypotheses posed at the outset of the research programme and they were broadly supported by the data presented in the thesis: · A wether trial was used to benchmark the productivity of wool sheep in the Islands, and the trial demonstrated that substantial genetic variation exists within the national flock that may be exploited in the future to improve the productivity of the wool industry, · Microhistological techniques were used in conjunction with n-alkane marker technology to investigate the diets consumed by sheep grazing native pastures.
