<p>This paper is about the reparations regime of the International Criminal Court and reparations possibilities for victims of sexual violence. It will contain a legal analysis of the reparations system of  / the Court, including the Trust Fund for Victims of the International Criminal Court. In a second step, the needs of women who experienced conflict related violence will be examined. The central  /   / question, which this paper will try to answer, is whether the ICC reparations regime has the ability to provide gender-sensitive reparations and thus make a contribution to the improvement of  / women&rsquo / s lives in post-conflict societies.</p>

Emergency contraception in Addis Ababa : practice of service providersLemma, Dawit Assefa 06 1900 (has links)
A quantitative, descriptive, explorative, contextual study was conducted to determine
pharmacists and drug vendors' level of knowledge, attitude towards and practice on
Emergency Contraceptive (ECl in Addis Ababa. Forty licensed service providers in Addis
Ababa were randomly selected during 2008 and interviewed using a structured interview
schedule. Data were analysed using a computer software package. The findings revealed
that although these service providers were knowledgeable on the purpose and dOSing
schedule of EC, they lacked knowledge on side-effects, contra-indications, and types of
ECs. Most respondents portrayed a subjective attitude towards easy EC access of
especially adolescent girls, since they believed that it will encourage promiscuity and
unprotected intercourse. Their knowledge and practice need to be improved, as it has a
direct effect on potential users and reducing unwanted pregnancies among young. / Health Studies / M.P.H. (Health Sudies)

Choice on termination of pregnancy : its impact on the woman's healthMakutoane, Matokgo Elizabeth 02 1900 (has links)
Unintended and unwanted pregnancies are major reproductive health problems impacting negatively on women’s health globally. When faced with these pregnancies, many women choose termination of pregnancy (TOP) as their recourse.
The purpose of the study was to explore and describe physical, psychological and social implications of TOP on the woman’s health. A qualitative and descriptive research design was used. The population comprised women who had TOP three months to one year before the study and were willing to participate in the study. A non-probability purposive sampling was used to select participants for the study.
In-depth phenomenological interviews were used for data collection until data saturation was reached with 20 participants.
The findings reveal that women had psychological, physical and social implications after TOP which impacted negatively on their health. Recommendations were made to improve the services of women choosing to terminate a pregnancy to lessen negative implications. / Health Studies / M.A. (Health Studies)
