  • The Global ETD Search service is a free service for researchers to find electronic theses and dissertations. This service is provided by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
Our metadata is collected from universities around the world. If you manage a university/consortium/country archive and want to be added, details can be found on the NDLTD website.

Active vibration control by means of concurrent implementation techniques

22 September 2015 (has links)
M.Ing. / The central theme of this dissertation is vibration reduction. The aims of this dissertation are, firstly, to provide a practical, cost effective, experimental system on which a given vibration control algorithm can be tested and experimented on, since there is a need to further optimize the performance of the given vibration control algorithm. Secondly, a solution to the problem of excessive time consumption of the given vibration control algorithm on current generation computers is to be found, to make it possible to implement the vibration control algorithm in real time on a practical system ...

PLANE STRAIN FINITE ELEMENT VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF BEAMS

Chu, Chun-Nan 22 July 2003 (has links)
In the present study , the free vibration of beam structures is analyzed by a plane strain finite element method . The displacement-type plane strain finite element formulation is based on elasticity and has no any other assumptions and simplifications except that the beam is of moderate depth . Also, all the displacement boundary conditions can be imposed exactly . These are the advantages that beam theories of conventional approach, which simulate beams with neutral plane behaviors, do not have. Therefore the present analyses should be able to obtain natural frequency and mode shape more accurately than conventional methods. The numerical values of natural frequencies of the present approach will be compared with previously published results of the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and Timoshenko beam theory , and further with the high order beam theory to reveal their diff -erences .The effects of geometry ratio and displacement boundary condition on natural frequency of beams are also discussed.
