Orientador: Cristiano Amaral Carboggni Di Giorgi / Resumo: Este estudo buscou investigar que visão tem o (a) professor (a) sobre a violência em meio escolar, qual o seu conhecimento e a sua opinião sobre o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, se ele (a) considera o seu conhecimento suficiente para intervir nos casos de violência, independentemente de o aluno figurar como autor ou como vítima, quais as razões que ele (a) identifica para a existência da violência na escola, se considera que o ECA contribui ou atrapalha na superação da violência no âmbito escolar e, ao final, apresentar as sugestões apontadas pelos (as) professores (as), parceiros (as) desta investigação, para reduzir a violência no seu ambiente de trabalho. O método escolhido foi o da pesquisa-ação, o que permitiu a diversificação na utilização de instrumentos para colher informações junto aos (as) professores (as) de 5a a 8a séries da rede estadual do Ensino Fundamental, em 05 escolas do município de Presidente Prudente. A coleta de informações possibilitou uma pesquisa quantitativa e qualitativa com os (as) professores (as) parceiros (as) desta investigação que, após a realização do estudo da legislação desenvolvido com eles pela pesquisadora, apresentaram propostas para a redução da violência em meio escolar, permitindo a análise que resultam em algumas pistas possíveis para contribuir na sua superação. / Abstract: This study aimed at investigating which is the view of the teacher about violence in school, and his/her knowledge and opinion about the law "Statute of the Children and the Adolescent" (Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente - ECA), if he/she considers his/her knowledge sufficent to intervene in cases of violence, independently of if the student is the perpetrator or the victim, which are the reasons he/she identifies for the existence of violence in the school, if he/she considers that the ECA contributes to or stalls the processs of reducing violence in school and, finally, to present the suggestions of the teachers, partners of this investigation, to reduce violence in school. In order to do so, we chose the methodology of action-research, which allowed to diversify the tools used to gather informations from teachers of 5th to 8th grades in 05 schools in Presidente Prudente, SP, Brazil. The gathering of informations allowed a qualitative and quantitative research with the teachers, partners of this investigation, and, after seminaries about the law that were carried by the researcher with the teachers, they presented proposals to reduce violence in the school, making possible the analysis by the researcher, which resulted in some ideias which can contribute to reduce violence in school. / Mestre
