Contemporary art song of the United States: a graded handbook

VonKamp, Rebecca Lee 01 May 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this dissertation is to provide vocal teachers and singers with a reference handbook of twenty-first century art songs for solo voice and piano accompaniment, written in English by composers from the United States. This handbook presents songs composed between the years of 2000-2015 by level of difficulty, from songs appropriate for high school students through collegiate students, and including professional singers. This handbook will familiarize teachers with over two hundred solo songs of seventeen composers, furthering the study and performance of contemporary art songs.

A quantitative DevSecOps assessment framework for cloud-based web microservices

Zhang, Jin Yu 08 January 2024 (has links)
In the dynamic domain of Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps), a quantitative approach is critical, with the usage of metrics being a key method to realize this goal. However, there is a notable absence of a set of metrics and assessment specifically for Cloud-Based Web Microservices (CBWMs) within a DevSecOps framework. This study seeks to fill this void by developing a quantitative assessment framework designed for CBWMs in the context of DevSecOps. Utilizing a Multi-Vocal Literature Review (MLR) methodology, we gathered and analyzed 92 documents from 2018 to 2023, sourced from IEEE Xplore, Springer, and Google, to select twelve effective metrics for CBWM assessment within DevSecOps. These metrics, categorized by scale and interrelationships, were chosen due to the tools available in the market for obtaining them, their general applicability across various CBWMs, and their clearly defined measurements and criteria. Each metric is supported by academic and industry literature, providing a comprehensive basis for their selection. Leveraging the Constructive Cost Model (COCOMO) II and the stages of Development and Operations (DevOps) – Plan, Code, Build, Test, Release, Deploy, Operate, and Monitor – our framework outlines an assessment flow that segments into three phases - Development, Integration, and Post-Deployment, aligning with the iterative Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This structure facilitates continuous improvement of CBWMs within a DevSecOps framework using these carefully selected metrics. / 2025-01-08T00:00:00Z

The Historical and Pedagogical Significance of Excerpts by André-Ernest-Modeste Grétry (1741-1813)

Youngs, Jennifer (Soprano) 05 1900 (has links)
This collection of 9 vocal works, taken from the oœuvre of André-Ernest-Modeste Grétry (1741-1813), was chosen for their utility in teaching undergrad voice majors. This collection offers a group of songs that are attractive in their simplicity allowing the time in their lessons to be devoted to the instruction of French pronunciation. Grétry's attention to detail in the setting of French prosody provides undergraduate singers with a collection of songs that offer an immediate understanding as to the nuances of the French language. With funding from an I-GRO grant through the University of North Texas, research was conducted in the archives of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and work continued in the Grétry Museum in Liège, Belgium. The primary sources found within these locations formulated valuable insights into to the life and influence of Grétry, and provided first-hand experience with research techniques within foreign libraries. This research has solidified the relationship between Grétry's compositional style and its usefulness within the undergraduate voice studio.
