Uncertainty Evaluation Through Ranking Of Simulation Models For Bozova Oil FieldTonga, Melek Mehlika 01 May 2011 (has links) (PDF)
Producing since 1995, Bozova Field is a mature oil field to be re-evaluated. When evaluating an oil field, the common approach followed in a reservoir simulation study is: Generating a geological model that is expected to represent the reservoir / building simulation models by using the most representative dynamic data / and doing sensitivity analysis around a best case in order to get a history-matched simulation model. Each step deals with a great variety of uncertainty and changing one parameter at a time does not comprise the entire uncertainty space. Not only knowing the impact of uncertainty related to each individual parameter but also their combined effects can help better understanding of the reservoir and better reservoir management.
In this study, uncertainties associated only to fluid properties, rock physics functions and water oil contact (WOC) depth are examined thoroughly. Since sensitivity analysis around a best case will cover only a part of uncertainty, a full factorial experimental design technique is used. Without pursuing the goal of a history matched case, simulation runs are conducted for all possible combinations of: 19 sets of capillary pressure/relative permeability (Pc/krel) curves taken from special core analysis (SCAL) data / 2 sets of pressure, volume, temperature (PVT) analysis data / and 3 sets of WOC depths. As a result, historical production and pressure profiles from 114 (2 x 3 x 19) cases are presented for screening the impact of uncertainty related to aforementioned parameters in the history matching of Bozova field. The reservoir simulation models that give the best match with the history data are determined by the calculation of an objective function / and they are ranked according to their goodness of fit. It is found that the uncertainty of Pc/krel curves has the highest impact on the history match values / uncertainty of WOC depth comes next and the least effect arises from the uncertainty of PVT data. This study constitutes a solid basis for further studies which is to be done on the selection of the best matched models for history matching purposes.

The separation processes using ceramic membranes have stood out in this scenario as an important tool of treatment of contaminated water, due to their cost-benefit, long life and low energy consumption. In this sense, it was evaluated using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the thermal effect in the water / oil separation process via ceramic membrane. The series resistance model was adopted in conjunction with the conservation equations of mass, linear momentum and energy, which were solved using ANSYS CFX® 15.
Orientador: Prof. Dr. Hugo B. Suffredini / Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal do ABC.
In this work, we discussed the development of a biosensor to estimate the
concentration of triacylglicerol¿s in oil from the synthesis in loco of glycerol by
hydrolysis of olive oil catalyzed by lipases in a liquid-liquid interface system consisting
of two immiscible liquid. The use of interfaces in electrochemistry is not necessarily
new study but represent an innovation in the field of electroanalytical, since it allows
the direct detection of electroactive compounds in hydrophobic matrices without the
need for complex pretreatment steps. Gold electrode presented a higher sensitivity value
when compared to other electrodes in the concentration range of 0.1 to 1.0 mmol L-1.
The enzyme was chemically immobilized in the gold electrode by crosslinking by
glutaraldehyde 0.2%. Percentages of 5 to 75% of olive oil were added on 2.0 mL of
Nujol ® and a temperature of 30 °C, increase of current densities was observed, with
stabilization after 10 minutes of chronoamperometric experiment at an oxidation
potential of glycerol in 0.3 V vs. Ag/AgCl, lower time in relation to the results obtained
by colorimetric methods. Good repeatability of the experiments was also observed
during 5 consecutive days, with a relative error of 4,44%, by storing the biosensor in
phosphate buffer pH 7.5 and after previous electrochemical cleaning. Thus, it is possible
to concluded that the biosensor developed in this work is easy to manufacture and
simple to operate, presenting good sensitivity and specificity for the glycerol molecule.
Its application in biological and organic matrices becomes viable as an alternative to the
conventional methods of detection of TAG¿s.

recuperação do fluxo do permeado.
This work aims to study the performance and validation of system with automation to
oily water separation processes with ceramic membranes. It was divided into two
phases: laboratory-scale tests and tests with the system with automation. In the
laboratory-scale tests, experiments to characterize the ceramic membrane were
carried out with deionized water and synthetic effluent, aiming to estimate the
behavior of membranes to assist the developing of the system with automation. To
evaluate the performance of the water-oil separation systems with ceramic
membranes the following parameters were analyzed: permeate flow (J, L/h.m2) and
oil rejection rate. In the experiments with the automatic system the performance was
evaluated in oil-water separating process with ceramic membrane, the synthetic
effluent used followed the same conditions as the benchtop system. The experiments
with synthetic effluent were simulated with oil concentration set at 20 mg/L. It was
observed that the reduction of the permeate flux with the operation time is strongly
dependent of the pressure and emulsified oil content, may be related to
concentration polarization, inherent to membrane separation processes. However,
the reduction of permeate flow was attenuated in the system with automation where
backpulse and blackwash cleaning processes were used. The dispersed phase
rejection rate, for all conditions analyzed, was greater than 97%. The backwash
cleaning system having sodium hydroxide as cleaning agent was not effective to
increase the permeate flow, but the cleaning agent performance was extremely
satisfactory which indicates that the change of the cleaning agent in the process will
increase the flow in the permeate stream. From the experiments carried out with the
system with automation results demonstrate the potential for separation with ceramic
membranes, for oily water treatment.

[pt] MEDIÇÃO DO TEOR DE ÁGUA EM MISTURAS ÓLEO-ÁGUA PELA VELOCIDADE DO SOM / [en] WATER CONTENT IN WATER-OIL MIXTURE BY SPEED OF SOUND MEASUREMENTBRUNO NEPOMUCENO DOS SANTOS 11 October 2023 (has links)
diesel.
A incerteza calculada é menor e, portanto,
[en] Ultrasonic meters are calibrated for flowrate measurement of pure oil flows.
However, the multiphase separation is not enough to totally separate water and oil
and the indicated oil flow rate is larger than its true value when water is mixed with
oil in the flow, as usual in pipeline flows. A methodology was developed to measure
the water content of water-oil mixtures automatically, using the already measured
speed of sound by installed intrusive or non-intrusive (clamp on type) ultrasonic
meters for flowrate measurement. That measure together with the previously
determined speed of sound and density of pure water and oil as a function of
temperature, thus avoiding additional meters. This dissertation shows a reduction
of the uncertainty of measurement when the meter indicated water-oil mixture
speed of sound is directly related to the traceable measurements of water content
and temperature of previously prepared water-oil mixtures, what turns out to be the
meter calibration for water content measurement. Water content uncertainty value
of 0.25 per cent, 95.45 per cent level of confidence, is obtained when curve fitting de data in the 0 per cent - 2.5 per cent range, that covers the fiscal measurement range (less than 1 per cent).

dinâmica da mistura e permeabilidade do meio poroso. Neste sentido, o estudo
One of the main problems associated with membrane separation process is the
permeate flux decline, which limits the application of the process in the food sector,
pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, industrial water treatment and supply due to the
increase in the concentration of components in the membrane thus calling for a
polarization concentration. A quantification of the concentration polarization as a
function of the process conditions and the amount of feed water system is required to
estimate the performance of the system satisfactorily. The search for new
alternatives to maintain of constant permeate flow was the main motivation of this
work will be evaluated the geometric shape of the separation module, the distribution
of membranes inside the module and operating parameters such as feed flow rate,
viscosity dynamic mixing and permeability of the porous medium. In this sense, the
numerical study of the process of separating oil/water through porous membranes
was performed with the aid of the commercial software ANSYS CFX® Release 12.0.
A mathematical model in steady state, applied to an incompressible fluid flowing in
laminar and/or turbulent inside filtration modules scheme is proposed. Numerical
results show that the mathematical model used was capable of providing for the
formation and growth of the boundary layer concentration (concentration polarization)
along the length of tubular ceramic membranes. The formation of concentration
polarization was influenced by the hydrodynamic behavior of flow, geometry of the
separation and mixing and porous properties, such as viscosity and permeability,
respectively module. The model found in turbulent flow regime of a favoring mass

From the large number of accidents involving pipelines in the oil industry, many researcher
have the objective of improving the tecnologies of leak detection, where the knowledge of
the behavior (s) fluid (s) inside the pipe is necessary. The work aims to describe the thermofluid dynamics study of oil-water flow in a pipe with tee junction and with the presence of leakage. For this, a three-dimensional domain was built and it was simulated the nonisothermal flow of water by testing models of turbulence k-Ɛ standard, SST e RNG k-Ɛ, using the equations of conservation of mass, momentum and energy. Comparing the profiles of velocity and temperature with experimental data, it were observed that the k-Ɛ standard model well represented the flow pattern behavior satisfactorily. The water-oil two-phase flow in a tee junction with leakage was simulated, varying the volume fraction of oil mixtures and temperatures of the input sections. It was noted that the smaller the volume fraction of oil in the flow, the greater the pressure upstream of the leak and the region where the main duct is linked to the secondary duct showed higher pressure gradients.

[en] In this work we focus on the numerical approximation of some
mathematical models in the oil field. First, we present a non-linear heat

problem of mesh refinement around the wells using the JFNK (Jacobian-

through an approximation to the Jacobian matrix. Finally, we solve a system
