Simulating and prototyping software defined networking (sdn) using mininet approach to optimise host communication in realistic programmable networking environment optimise host communication in realistic programmable networking environment.

Zulu, Lindinkosi Lethukuthula 19 August 2019 (has links)
This is a Masters student Final Dissertation / In this project, two tests were performed. On the first test, Mininet-WiFi was used to simulate a Software Defined Network to demonstrate Mininet-WiFi’ s ability to be used as the Software Defined Network emulator which can also be integrated to the existing network using a Network Virtualized Function (NVF). A typical organization’s computer network was simulated which consisted of a website hosted on the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) virtual machine, and an F5 application delivery controller (ADC) which provided load balancing of requests sent to the web applications. A website page request was sent from the virtual stations inside Mininet-WiFi. The request was received by the application delivery controller, which then used round robin technique to send the request to one of the web servers on the LAMP virtual machine. The web server then returned the requested website to the requesting virtual stations using the simulated virtual network. The significance of these results is that it presents Mininet-WiFi as an emulator, which can be integrated into a real programmable networking environment offering a portable, cost effective and easily deployable testing network, which can be run on a single computer. These results are also beneficial to modern network deployments as the live network devices can also communicate with the testing environment for the data center, cloud and mobile provides. On the second test, a Software Defined Network was created in Mininet using python script. An external interface was added to enable communication with the network outside of Mininet. The amazon web services elastic computing cloud was used to host an OpenDaylight controller. This controller is used as a control plane device for the virtual switch within Mininet. In order to test the network, a webserver hosted on the Emulated Virtual Environment – Next Generation (EVENG) software is connected to Mininet. EVE-NG is the Emulated Virtual Environment for networking. It provides tools to be able to model virtual devices and interconnect them with other virtual or physical devices. The OpenDaylight controller was able to create the flows to facilitate communication between the hosts in Mininet and the webserver in the real-life network / The University of South Africa The University of Johannesburg / College of Engineering, Science and Technology

Elektronický systém řízení hudebního nástroje / Control system of mouth-organ

Trukhina, Irina January 2014 (has links)
The master’s thesis describes development of control system for automatic mouth-organ. The process of development is divided into three parts: a concept of control system, design of hardware parts and development of software parts. Controlled device, system requirements and general design of the hardware and software components are described in the concept of control system. The detailed hardware design includes next processes: electronic component selection, printed circuit board design, assembly and debugging. The result of this chapter is electronic system, which function correctly. The aim of the last chapter is to specify and explain development of software parts of control system. Installation of required software and important aspects of control software and user interface development are described in this chapter. The goal of the thesis is to create a control system, which will function correctly and reliably.

Měření veličin ve stavebních konstrukcích / Meassuring system for building constructions

Flagar, Vojtěch January 2017 (has links)
This paper deals with the hardware and software design of the data acquisition distributed system with large amount of connected sensors. The intended application of this work is measuring some physical quantities in the building constructions. The designed system is hierarchically divided into the three levels. On the highest level there is a single-board computer Raspberry Pi which is used as a master on RS-485 bus. There can be up to 32 slave devices on the bus while each of them collects data from the sensors connected to 4-channel I2C bus. At the same time the Raspberry Pi is used as a web server, providing the user interface of the system.

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ENERGY USAGE MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS USING MODULAR IIOT FRAMEWORK

Monil Vallabhbh Chheta (10063480) 01 March 2021 (has links)
<div><div><div><p>This project aims to develop a cloud-based platform that integrates sensors with business intelligence for real-time energy management at the plant level. It provides facility managers, an energy management platform that allows them to monitor equipment and plant-level energy consumption remotely, receive a warning, identify energy loss due to malfunction, present options with quantifiable effects for decision-making, and take actions, and assess the outcomes. The objectives consist of:</p><ol><li><p>Developing a generic platform for the monitoring energy consumption of industrial equipment using sensors</p></li><li><p>Control the connected equipment using an actuator</p></li><li><p>Integrating hardware, cloud, and application algorithms into the platform</p></li><li><p>Validating the system using an Energy Consumption Forecast scenario</p></li></ol><p>A Demo station was created for testing the system. The demo station consists of equipment such as air compressor, motor and light bulb. The current usage of these equipment is measured using current sensors. Apart from current sensors, temperature sensor, pres- sure sensor and CO2 sensor were also used. Current consumption of these equipment was measured over a couple of days. The control system was tested randomly by turning on equipment at random times. Turning on the equipment resulted in current consumption which ensured that the system is running. Thus, the system worked as expected and user could monitor and control the connected equipment remotely.</p></div></div></div>

Mobilní systém pro rozpoznání textu na iOS / Mobile System for Text Recognition on iOS

Bobák, Petr January 2017 (has links)
This thesis describes a development of a modern client-server application for text recognition on iOS platform. The reader is acquainted with common principles of a client-server model, including its known architecture styles, and with a distribution of logical layers between both sides of the model. After that the thesis depicts current trends and examples of suitable technologies for creating an application programming interface of a web server. Possible ways of text recognition on the server side are discussed as well. In context of a client side, the thesis provides an insight into iOS platform and a few important concepts in iOS application development. Following implementation of the server side is stressed to be reusable as much as possible for different kinds of use cases. Last but not least, the thesis provides a simple iOS framework for a direct communication with the recognition server. Finally, an application for evaluation of food ingredients from a packaging material is implemented as an example of usage.
