Καϊμακά, Ελένη 17 September 2012 (has links)
In the present diploma thesis, applications of cluster analysis to economics are reviewed. The first chapter describes the general methodology of cluster analysis and analyzes the steps followed during the procedure. In particular, the two main clustering methods, hierarchical and divisive, as well as the common distance metrics and linkage rules are developed. In the second chapter the fields of economics which, according to the literature, the cluster analysis is usually used to, are described. Furthermore, there has been a brief review of the methodology of clustering followed for each economic sector.

Ανάλυση συστάδων (cluster analysis)

Καράγεωργα, Ισμήνη 12 April 2013 (has links)
In the current diplomatic thesis is analyzed the problem of cluster analysis. The purpose of cluster analysis is to group items in clusters, so that items belonging to the same cluster have a greater similarity than the items belonging to different clusters.

Profiling emotion regulation : exploring patterns of regulation in classroom behaviour

Sinclaire-Harding, Lysandra January 2018 (has links)
Emotion Regulation describes the ability to influence the experience and expression of affect. Adaptive emotion regulation contributes to healthy development, social competence and academic success (Kochanska, Murray & Harlan, 2000). This study investigated the behavioural strategies for emotion regulation, emotion expression, regulatory styles and classroom behaviour in middle childhood. One hundred and twenty-eight children were recruited from five UK public and private primary schools. From within their school setting, participant sensitivity to emotion-eliciting events was recorded using ambulatory skin conductance technology whilst age-group paired children performed two LEGO construction tasks. Observed behaviours were video-recorded and coded to establish frequencies of distinct regulatory behaviours. These were compared to self-reports of emotion regulation strategies and teacher-reports of classroom behaviour. Iterative partitioning cluster analysis methods were used to identify four regulatory profiles: 1) the ‘Adaptive’ cluster: employed high levels of positive problem solving and reappraisal strategies and frequently expressed both positive and negative emotions; 2) the ‘Maladaptive’ cluster: used more negative regulation (avoidant or obstructive strategies), expressed more negative emotion and had more social and behavioural problems in class; 3) the ‘Reactive’ cluster showed high levels of electrodermal activity, expressed little emotion and were reported as inattentive/hyperactive in class; and 4) the ‘Distracted’ cluster demonstrated high levels of behavioural and cognitive distraction. These results indicate four meaningful profiles that could support the identification of vulnerable individuals for positive school-based intervention and support.

Změny daňové kvóty ve státech Evropské unie / Changes in the tax quota in EU Member States

RYŠAVÁ, Petra January 2018 (has links)
This master thesis is about tax quota and its change in the states of European Union. The practical part starts with display of the tax quota in the states of EU and its changes after 20 years, there is a comparison of the tax quota in 1995 and 2015. In these years, there is also performed the cluster analysis in the programme STATISTICA 12. The cluster analysis consists of four variables (partial tax quota): indirect taxes, personal income taxes, corporate income taxes, social contributions. The aim of this analysis is to find groups of states with a similar development of the tax quota. Then follows the convergence analysis, which says that tax systems of the states in EU are gradually approaching each other. The last topic in this thesis is a comparison of the average values EU of the development tax quota with development of the total tax revenues and the GDP. The very similar and unstable development of the two last mentioned indicators are ensuring a relatively stable value of the tax quota over time.

Palavras chave: Aranha, Escorpião, Epidemiologia, Análise de Agrupamentos / Arachnids have been successful along the evolutionary process thanks to their high adaptability. Within this group, spiders and scorpions are widely distributed on the planet and may affect human health. In order to evaluate the infestation problems caused by these animals, it is necessary to use statistical tools that can assess the factors that favor or perpetuate their appearance, presence and proliferation. Thus, this work aims to present cluster analysis in order to determine infestation patterns, allowing seemingly distinct sites to be grouped into similar clusters, which can benefit health policies. The 25 geographic collection sites used for sampling were divided into six groups with different characteristics, among which three were formed by a single collection point (outliers). The groups obtained showed a relationship with the environmental characteristics of the sites, indicating that the distribution of arachnid families in the different urban gradients is influenced by environmental conditions. Therefore, the occupation of urbanized areas by venomous arachnids becomes a problem for public health, requiring epidemiological control policies through monitoring and mapping of risk areas, which can be better assessed with the use of cluster analysis
