The system likes a normal one, consists of database servers, web servers and NAS storage server, but with the particular distributed task scheduler servers and the calculation servers. Each type server can be a team. The user can use WEB browser with the help of OCX control to setup his own processing task according to his need, choose which plane, which flight no., and defining the parameters, flight time segments, extracting rate etc to be processed. The system can accomplish the processing using the embedded application middleware, various data processing modules in database, with the scheduler servers and processing servers. The system can meet many users' demand of huge quantity non-structural flight raw data quickly and efficient processing at the short time, ensure the flight data enhanced management, to keep from copying and distributing the great quantity raw data inefficiently and out-of-management.

Cur- rently the VANI nodes provide four classes of physical resources – processing, reconfig- urable hardware, storage and interconnection fabric – but the set of sharable resources can be expanded. Virtualization software allows slices of these resources to be appor- tioned to VANI nodes that can in turn be interconnected to form virtual networks, which can operate according to experimental network and application protocols. This thesis discusses the design decisions that have been made in the development of this system and provides a detailed description of the prototype, including how users interact with the resources and the interfaces provided by the virtualization layers.

Application-oriented Networking through Virtualization and Service Composition

Future networks will face major challenges in accommodating emerging and future networked applications. These challenges include significant architecture and management issues pertaining to future networks. In this thesis, we study several of these challenges including issues such as configurability, application-awareness, rapid application-creation and deployment and scalable QoS management. To address these challenges, we propose a novel Application-Oriented Network (AON) architecture as a converged computing and communication network in which application providers are able to flexibly configure in-network resources on-demand. The resources in AON are virtualized and offered to the application providers through service-oriented approaches. To enable large-scale experimentation with future network architectures and applications, in the second part of this thesis, we present the Virtualized Application Networking Infrastructure (VANI) as a prototype of an Application-Oriented Network. VANI utilizes a service-oriented control and management plane that provides flexible and dynamic allocation, release, program and configuration of resources used for creating applications or performing network research experiments from layer three and up. Moreover, VANI resources allow development of network architectures that require a converged network of computing and communications resources such as in-network processing, storage and software and hardware-based reprogrammable resources. We also present a Distributed Ethernet Traffic Shaping (DETS) system used in bandwidth virtualization in VANI and designed to guarantee the send and receive Ethernet traffic rates in VANI, in a computing cluster or a datacenter. The third part of this thesis addresses the problem of scalable QoS and admission control in service-oriented environments where a limited number of instances of service components are shared among different application classes. We first use Markov Decision Processes to find optimal solutions to this problem. Next we present a scalable and distributed heuristic algorithm able to guarantee probability of successful completion of a composite application. The proposed algorithm does not assume a specific distribution type for services execution times and applications request inter-arrival times, and hence is suitable for systems with stationary or non-stationary request arrivals. We use simulations and experimental measurements to show the effectiveness of the proposed solutions and algorithms in various parts of this thesis.

Le travail présenté dans ce mémoire a pour objectif le développement d'une nouvelle architecture pour les systèmes de vidéosurveillance. Tout d'abord, une étude bibliographique nous a conduit à classer les systèmes existants selon le niveau de leurs applications qui dépend directement des fonctions analytiques exécutées. Nous avons également constaté que les systèmes habituels traitent toutes les données enregistrées alors que réellement une faible partie des scènes sont utiles pour l'analyse. Ainsi, nous avons étendu l'architecture ordinaire des systèmes de surveillance par une phase de pré-analyse qui extrait et simplifie les régions d'intérêt en conservant les caractéristiques importantes. Deux méthodes différentes pour la pré-analyse dans le contexte de la vidéosurveillance ont été proposées : une méthode de filtrage spatio-temporel et une technique de modélisation des objets en mouvement. Nous avons contribué, aussi, par l'introduction du concept de la scalabilité orientée vers l'application à travers une architecture multi-niveaux applicatifs pour les systèmes de surveillance. Les différents niveaux d'applications des systèmes de vidéosurveillance peuvent être atteints incrémentalement pour répondre aux besoins progressifs de l'utilisateur final. Un exemple de système de vidéosurveillance respectant cette architecture et utilisant nos méthodes de pré-analyse est proposé. / The work presented in this thesis aims to develop a new architecture for video surveillance systems. Firstly, a literature review has led to classify the existing systems based on their applications level which dependents directly on the performed analytical functions. We, also, noticed that the usual systems treat all captured data while, actually, a small part of the scenes are useful for analysis. Hence, we extended the common architecture of surveillance systems with a pre-analysis phase that extracts and simplifies the regions of interest with keeping the important characteristics. Two different methods for preanalysis were proposed : a spatio-temporal filtering and a modeling technique for moving objects. We contributed, too, by introducing the concept of application-oriented scalability through a multi-level application architecture for surveillance systems. The different applications levels can be reached incrementally to meet the progressive needs of the enduser. An example of video surveillance system respecting this architecture and using the preanalysis methods was proposed.
