_______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / It is discussed, in this work, to what extent mythology, as mental structure, would have been the basis for the development of sacred spaces, and these would have psychic meanings which have contributed to the strengthening of certain philosophical attitudes. In this sense, both literature and architecture will be analyzed as maintainers of principles of human understanding about themselves in the cosmos, (re) organized by their deep structures. In this process, it will be indispensable a comparative line of cultural semiotics, to observe similarities and differences among various myths throughout human history, in order to try to understand some behaviors caused by such beliefs in the present life of a believer.
