La tecnica narrativa nelle Storie ferraresi di Giorgio Bassani /Patruno, Giovanna. January 2000 (has links)
One aspect of Giorgio Bassani's narrative that requires to be examined is that of the narrator, the narrative voice and therefore the point of view from which the facts are narrated. The identification of these elements is fundamental because they influence the author's expressive choices, and thus determine the way in which the reader approaches the events described. / This study posits an analysis of the narrative techniques used by the author to develop Le storie ferraresi, and aims to assess the ends, partially explicit, he intends to meet.

La funzione simbolica dello spazio nella trilogia di Giorgio Bassani /Tumino, Anna Maria. January 2000 (has links)
This thesis examines the symbolic use of space in the trilogy of Giorgio Bassani: Gli occhiali d'oro, Il giardino dei Finzi-Contini and Dietro la porta. / All written in the first person, the novels are part of a continuum since in each one the same narrator remembers a different event from his past. All three novels recreate events which took place prior to the Second World War; two make direct reference to the grueling period of antisemitism under the Fascist regime. / Through the spatial element we analyze the moral and psychological states of the various characters, in particular of the young Jewish protagonist who is suddenly a social outcast due to the racial persecutions. Furthermore, space in these novels reflects the emotional state of the most important character of the trilogy, the narrator, who still, after many years shows signs of unresolved issues.

Téma dospívání v moderní italské literatuře / Puberty Theme in the Modern Italian LiteratureGrünzweigová, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
The following thesis addresses the theme of puberty through three Italian novels: Agostino by Alberto Moravia, Ernesto by Umberto Saba, and Dietro la porta by Giorgio Bassani. The introduction outlines the history of the children's and adolescents' protagonism in literature since the beginning. One chapter is dedicated to each author, his biographic data and generic work. The analyzed novels are then formally presented whose contents reveal a prevalence of the puberty theme. The authors' life journeys and unique youthful traumas are clearly projected in each novel. We can find the reflection of complicated family relationships, first sexual experiences, and initial problems of adult life in the stories of the young protagonists. Finally, the difference between the characters and their authors is shown with a brief comparison.

Giorgio Bassani a Ferrara / Giorgio Bassani and FerraraHloušková, Šárka January 2013 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is The Romance of Ferrara which includes the majority of prosaic work of Giorgio Bassani, one of the most outstanding Italian writers of 20th century. The introduction shows historical and social context of the period in which Bassani grew up and that gave rise to his life philosophy. Without this experience he would never have become a writer and his moral obligation to take down all the truth is based on this fact. The jewish origin of Bassani plays also an important role in his oeuvre; the judaism includes a sense of exceptionality and marginalisation at the same time. This ambivalent feeling is characteristic for majority of Bassani's heroes. The central part of the thesis outlines the thematic and stylistic site of The Romance of Ferrara. We will map even the relationship between the narrator and the author himself, between fiction and reality. The last two chapters concern Ferrara, symbology of the space (vertical and horizontal as well) and the location of characters on the stage of this microcosmos. We will follow characters on their way through Ferrara and will study which role different places are playing within the Bassani's work.
