Sammanfattning I detta arbete har jag tagit fram ett gestaltningsförslag till ett informationsmaterial om tandvård för målgruppen barn i åldern 6-8 år. Jag har undersökt hur bildberättelser kan användas tillsammans med informativa illustrationer för att förmedla information om tandvårdsbesök till målgruppen. Både informationsmängden och innehållet har anpassats efter målgruppens behov och kunskaper. De metoder jag har använt för detta är en intervju med en tandläkare och observation av en tandvårdsundersökning för att få en tydlig bild av vad som sker under en rutinundersökning. Genom att göra en målgruppsanalys och en kort omvärldsanalys har jag fått fakta om målgruppen och hur andra har gjort för att kommunicera med barn om samma ämne. Med utgångspunkt i informationsdesign har jag tillämpat teorier om visuell berättarteknik, kognition samt principer för gestaltning och layout. Utifrån de teorier jag använt och de resultat som kommit fram har jag skapat ett gestaltningsförslag som behandlar de olika delarna av en rutinundersökning hos tandläkaren. / Abstract In this thesis I have developed a designproposal for a material about dentalcare with children between the ages 6-8 as my targetgroup. The intention with this thesis is to research how picturestories can be used with informative illustrations to communicate information about dentalcarevisits to the targetgroup. Both the amount of information communicated and the content has been adapted according to the targetgroups needs and knowledge. To accomplish this I have done an interview and an observation of a dental examination to ger a clear picture of the sequence of events regarding what happens during a routine dentalappointment. By analysing the targetgroup and doing a brief environmental scanning I have acquired useful facts about the targetgroup and an idra of how others have communicated information to children about the same topic. With informationdesign as my standpoint I have applied theories about visual storytelling, cognition and principles of design and layout. With these theories and the results of methods used I have created a designproposal in wich I process the different parts of a routine dental examination with picturestories as my medium.
