Americká hypoteční krize / American mortgage crisis II

This graduation thesis focuses on analyzing the impact(s) of the recent American mortgage crisis. The main goal is to study measures that have been taken to overcome this crisis andv evaluate them. The thesis is divided into four parts. The aim of the first part is to quantify the size of the United States housing bubble. The second part brings in the estimates of losses to individual financial institutions in the USA. The third part concentrates on detailed analysis of the arrangements that have been used to overcome mortgage crisis and consequential financial crisis. The last part compares the measures taken in order to solve the recent crisis with the ones that had been taken to overcome the Great Depression.

This thesis is dedicated to the economic development in Spain in the times of the longlasting economic expansion which was terminated by the crisis in 2006-2007. The purpose is to summarize the development, identify the main factores causing the crisis and to evaluate the impacts. Great part of this thesis is dedicated to the sector of construction and the real estate market. It analyses the process of formation of the price bubble on the real estate market and its subsequent crack. The problematic internal situation was in a short time period exposed to the impacts of the global financial crisis. A special part of this thesis is therefore dedicated to the Spanish banking sector and its stability.

The diploma thesis is mainly focused on the housing market and central bank's (supervisory authority's) potential reactions to risks arising from it. The thesis provides a broader perspective of the housing market so that the first part is devoted to the liquidity surplus as it is closely connected with the housing market. The next part of the thesis focuses on housing price bubbles and subsequent bursts as well as the tools of the central bank (supervisory authority) to mitigate such risks. It is discussed whether using monetary policy to affect house prices that do not reflect fundamentals is advisable. Macroprudential policy with its tools is introduced as an alternative. Special attention is paid to the Czech housing market.

This master's thesis deals with stock market of the Czech Republic under financial crisis conditions. It is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part describes a stock price, most significant stock bubbles and fundamental, technical and psychological analysis. The practical part of this thesis is dedicated to an up-to-date stock valuation of three representative stock companies quoted on Prague Stock Exchange by using the fundamental analysis. The technical analysis is applied as an additional approach. The main target of this thesis is to verify whether the current Czech stock market can not be designated as a stock bubble any more in contrast to a situation before the financial crisis.

This thesis deals with the impacts of information and communication technology investment surge on USA economic growth in the 1990s. Besides others, rapid development of these technologies also led to the creation of a stock market bubble, which affected the expansion phase of the economic cycle. Its burst in 2000-2001 resulted in economic slow-down and end of the longest recorded economic expansion in the history of the United States. Main part of the thesis discusses the benefits of information technology for economy and further evaluates the role of the speculative bubble in the development of consumption and investment expenditures. The thesis results suggest that the increase in capital intensity and sharp stock market price inflation significantly accelerated the dynamics of the economic growth in the second half of the described cycle.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current situation on the precious metals market, above all of gold and silver, as metals with an interesting past and future. The result should be a current view of both markets and their unique differences. The first part is devoted to the characteristics of gold and silver, their utilisation and outlook of new applications as a consequence of developing industrial branches in the new millennium. The second part is a more detailed view of the market and an analysis of the aspect of supply and demand of both theese metals and differences that influence their price. The third part brings together the main factors shaping this market and introduces some indicators eligible to watch these markets. The conclusion presents an evaluation of the discussed conclusions in a broader perspective.

The primary currency in the new economy is user data and the enormous value is evident only to companies doing business with them. This thesis is dedicated to the protection of personal data in the context of the currently developing trend of personalization. Author sets out tools that make online tracking possible, compares the legislative regulation of the Czech Republic, the Russian Federation and the United States of America, evaluating the differences, trends, strengths and weaknesses in relation to the practice of creating profiles and behavioural targeting advertising. Subsequently, the author lists the additional risks of this trend for the freedom and privacy, lists general recommendations as well as recommendations for the users themselves to maximize the protection of privacy and personal data.

The thesis provides a glimpse into lives of the Czechs working in the EU institutions. Accent is on the theory of transnationalism as contemporary approach to international migration. The paper focuses on group of migrants for which mobility and high qualification is characteristical as important elements within the current knowledge based society. It deals with migrants who are living their lives in two or more countries at once and who stay in close touch with the country of their origin. Focus of the work is aimed at the concept of temporarity as a key dimension that has influence on strategy, lifestyle and values of the Czech transnational migrants in Brussels. Conclusions are based on qualitative research composed of longterm participant observation, formal semi-structured and informal interviews. The aim of the work is to show the dimenson of temporarity by using material culture as a method on strategies of living and consumation and also how are the Czechs in Brussels biased by a specific environment of the EU institutions. Further to find out whether it is possible to consider Czech migrants as transnational migrants with regards to the definition of transnational migration and following the relationship to the Czech Republic and Belgium, contacts with home.
