<p dir="ltr">This research proposes a methodology by which to identify signalized intersections that cannot be improved by retiming and must instead be addressed with capacity improvement via capital investments. For these intersections, a ranking metric is developed to rank based on capital investment necessity.</p>

Thesis subject is a reconstitution of current overloaded roundabout. There are compared two options by multicriteria analysis, spiral roundabout and luminous controlled transverse crossing. The selected spiral roundabout is developed in greater detail. There are designed foot-paths, pedestrian underpass and footbridges over the river. Vehicles will be rectified by horizontal road markings and the center dividing island of the roundabout. There was measured actual traffic flow intensity. Reviews of current and perspective intensity for current and newly designed state are part of the thesis.
