Caries dental en primeras molares permanentes y factores asociados en los escolares de Santa Rosa de YangasSurco Laos, Jesús Natividad January 2015 (has links)
La caries dental constituye un problema de salud pública y los primeros molares permanentes son los dientes más afectados por este padecimiento por su alta susceptibilidad, siendo este órgano dentario pieza clave en la función masticatoria. Objetivo Determinar el comportamiento de la caries dental en el primer molar permanente y los factores asociados en los escolares de Santa Rosa de Yangas Materiales y métodos Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en 888 primeras molares permanentes de 222 escolares de entre 7 a 12 años. El instrumento fue un formato para el registro de la morbilidad dentaria (CPO) e índice de higiene oral (IHO-S). Y un cuestionario con alternativas de respuestas para determinar el tipo de dieta y los hábitos de higiene oral. Resultados. Los resultados estadísticos determinaron que el 90.4% del total de los escolares examinados presentaban caries dental o tenían historia de ésta, observándose la siguiente distribución: 58.78% piezas con caries, 3.4% piezas obturadas y 0.9% piezas perdidas. La dieta cariogénica y la mala higiene bucal actúan como factores de riesgo de aparición caries dental. El promedio CPOD en los escolares, se incrementa a medida que aumenta la edad. Destacándose las edades críticas entre 11 y 12 años con un CPOD de 3 y 4. Se evidencia mayor afectación de los molares inferiores 33.33 % en el sexo femenino y 31.41% en el masculino. Conclusiones Los molares inferiores fueron los más afectados por caries dental, se presentaron pocos dientes tratados. Los resultados indican un alto índice de caries en la población y la necesidad de intensificar los programas de educación para la salud oral y específicamente acerca de la importancia de este diente. Objective To determine the prevalence of dental caries in permanent first molars in schoolchildren 7-12 year so school Yangas Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa District Quives. Materials and methods. A descriptive cross-sectional study on 888 first permanent molars of 222 schoolchildren aged 7 to 12 years was conducted. The instrument was a format for recording dental morbidity (CPO) and oral hygiene index (OHI-S). And a questionnaire response options to determine the type of diet and oral hygiene habits. Cariogenic diet and poor oral hygiene act as risk factors for dental caries appearance. The average DMFT in school, increases with increasing age. Highlighting the critical ages between 11 and 12 years with a DMFT of 3 and 4. greater involvement of the lower molars 33.33% in females and 31.41% were male .in evidence Conclusions Molars were the most affected by dental caries, few teeth treated were presented. The results indicate high incidence of caries in the population and the need to strengthen education programs for oral health and specifically about the importance of this tooth.
