Ski Chalet

Gutierrez, Andrew Neil 29 June 2015 (has links)
This book contains the design for a vacation house. This house is situated on the south facing slope of Lone Mountain in Gallatin County, Montana and receives heavy snowfall each year. This project was primarily explored through model making and focused on the relationship of different materials to one another and the spaces those materials can create. The contrast between concrete and wood best shows the dynamic use of materials in the house. The final design of the house evolved through the way different elements and materials responded and interacted with one another. / Master of Architecture

The theme that permeates the proposal of this work is the study about the reuse, the adaptation process of heritage buildings, to a contemporary use. For surch purpose, have been chosen as object of study some buildings in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, and its actual operation. From observation of disabled buildings and reused buildings in the city, that recovered its vitality, comes up the need to study the theme, to improve this reuses, always aiming a better and bigger preservation of the cultural heritage. The reuse of buildings, that here means reintegrate a building wich the use is no more compatible, to an suitable use, is seen as an object of study very complex, and here is seen as one of the tools when the goal is the preservation. Was chose two houses as objects of study, the Chalet Íris Martins Villela, and the Castelinho da Ultrimagem, both situated in the Rio Branco Avenue, one of the main in the city. The chose of the two houses is justified by the limits of heritage: the Chalet has, by decree, the frontages, volumetry and interior as heritage, while the Castelinho has as heritage only your frontages volumetry and frontal garden. The general goal of this study, so, is to do an criticism analysis about the adaptation process that the heritage buildings have experienced over time, since the heritage decree, until the last reform to the actual use. Therefore, what we want with this study is to do a contemporary analisys about the application os all those concepts and intervention techniques, when doing the reuse of a building to a diferente of its original destination, focus on the question os respect to its authenticity.

Horská chata pod Poľanou / Chalet under Poľana

Babicová, Ivana January 2018 (has links)
The aim of my diploma thesis is to design the object of a chalet, which is intended for recreation, boarding and accommodation. The accommodation is designed for 16 people in the form of tourist accommodation. The land, on which the proposed building is located, is on a slight slope, in an uninterrupted area in the protected landscape area of Poľana. Access to the land is secured by asphalt road from the northeast side of the land. It is also accessible by a tourist route from the southeastern side. The affected area is located approximately 10 km from the nearest village Hriňová. In the past, the site was often used for recreation. At a distance of 1 kilometer is the old mountain hotel Poľana, which is out of operation, but provides only temporary accommodation. The new chalet should return tourism to this area and increase the interest of tourists. The underground floor has a separate service for servicing and borrowing sports equipment. The building has one underground floor partially embedded in the terrain, from the south side accessible for the public. Two above-ground floors are made up of CLT panels, the first serving for a restaurant and a private dwelling unit, the second one for accommodation. The underground floor is designed with concrete filling blocks. The roof is a saddle, made of wooden collar construction. On the south side of the building is a large dormer.
