Zvonaři, kostelní zvony a jejich osudy na území historického Loketska a českého Chebska / Manufacturers of bells, church bells and their destinies in the territory of the historic Loket and Cheb regions

Bělohlávek, Miloš January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with church bells as specific instruments of liturgy and lived faith on the example of today's Karlovy Vary Region, respectively historical regions Loketsko and Chebsko. Part of the text will focus on individual families who were engaged in casting bells. Emphasis is placed on the social and economic status of these families, their social mobility and the level of production in different epochs. These topics are traced from the early Middle Ages to the period of requisitions of bell funds during the world wars. At the same time, the work will attempt the first comprehensive mapping of historical bell collections in today's Karlovy Vary Region and give an explanation of the use of bells in church practice, taking into account the regional specifics of the culture of Egerland. Thanks to the connection to Germany and the important position of Cheb and Loket, there have been many bell-making manufacturers since the Middle Ages. In the early modern period, together with the development of mining activities in the Slavkov Forest and in the Ore Mountains, the prestige of the bell-making craft increased. Therefore, most of the church bells preserved to this day come from this period. Thanks to the parish archives, chronicles and topographies from the turn of the 19th and 20th...

Český periodický tisk na Chebsku v roce 1945 / Czech Periodical Press in Region off Cheb in Years 1945

Dlouhá, Petra January 2012 (has links)
The main aim of my diploma thesis is to capture the development of the periodic press in Cheb after the end of the Second World War. It is a period which brought extensive demographic and socio-economic changes to Czechoslovakia and especially the border regions. That is why this topic must be set in a wider context. At the beginning, I describe the history of the Cheb region, which, from its earliest history, had a distinct position within our country. I also researched the general issue of Czech-German relations after the foundation of the independent Czechoslovak Republic. A chapter in the thesis deals specifically with what happened during the Second World War in Cheb. The main emphasis is however on the first months in the Cheb region after the war. The reason for this is that it was a period of essential reversal in Cheb. Everything that used to be German was now to become Czech. It was essential for the newcomers to receive information in their mother tongue. The core of the thesis is the development of the Czech regional press in the Cheb region. In the year 1945 there only was a single journal published in Cheb - Chebsko. My thesis will present this journal, which first came out shortly after the end of the Second World War. I will also make a quantitative analysis of the first publishing...

Ověření, analýza a interpretace tíhové anomálie u Žírovic v Chebské pánvi / Verification, analysis and interpretation of gravity anomaly at locality Žírovice in the Cheb Basin

Vaško, Oskar January 2018 (has links)
In the vicinity of the Žírovice village near Františkovy Lázně in West Bohemia there exists a striking gravimetric isometric negative anomaly. Similar gravimetric anomaly near Mýtina, about 17 km to the SE of Žírovice, was interpreted by Mrlina et al. (2009) as a Quaternary volcanic structure of a maar-diatreme type. It is possible that the Žírovice anomaly and some other similar anomalies in the Cheb Basin may also reflect Tertiary or Quaternary volcanic structures. For this reason we performed a detailed gravimetric and magnetometric survey, followed by geophysical modeling. The presence of a volcanic structure was not confirmed by this work, on the contrary, it was rather excluded. The anomaly was interpreted as a sunken tectonic 3D block/graben.

Historie vegetace Chebské pánve ze sedimentárního záznamu lokality SOOS / History of vegetational development in the Cheb basin from sedimentary record of the SOOS National Nature Reserve

Suda, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
Vegetation development in the Cheb basin ( W Czech Republic) recorded in the sediments of the SOOS ational ature Reserve This thesis focuses on palaeoecological research of quaternary sediments in the Soos National Nature Reserve (Cheb basin, NW Czech Republic). Quaternary history of this locality is poorly known, despite it is a valuable and protected area with high natural qualities. The Soos basin is also known for its unique geological record, which is expected to cover information on landscape dynamics at least during the Holocene. A lake existed in the Soos basin enabling accumulation of diatomite and peat sediments of a broad palaeoecological potential. Records were analysed with method of pollen analysis and were dated using 14C. The results of this study bring information about vegetation development in the area of Cheb basin as well as development of lake ecosystem. It also gives a new insight on lake's origin and its age. The accumulation of peat sediments started in the Preboreal period and was continuous at least until the Atlantic following with a hiatus, therefore further detection of vegetation development is impossible. The beginning of diatomite accumulation, as well as the existence of the lake goes back to the Bølling interstadial, according to radiocarbon dating. However, this...

Spolupráce Pohraniční stráže s civilním obyvatelstvem v šedesátých a sedmdesátých letech: příklad Chebska / Cooperation of Border guards with civic inhabitants in 60's and 70's era: example of Cheb region

Jaška, Petr January 2017 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with theme of collaboration Border Guard troops with the civilian sector its focusing on 60's and 70's era. "Smrti, smrti, tys stále tak po životech hladová." Mortalita a pohřební rituál na Chebsku ve druhé polovině 19. století / "Death, Death, you are always so carving of lives." Mortality and funeral ritual in Cheb in the second half of 19th century

KOLOUCHOVÁ, Jana January 2011 (has links)
Presented theses deals with the phenomenon of death in the second half of 19th century on the example of the area around the Cheb town. The source base is made up by information of Christian registers of deaths, by prescriptive regulations and tangible evidences. As a main methodological basis the Historical Demography was chosen, but the other approaches were used as a Historical Anthropology and Art History. The most important emphasis was oriented on getting results from statistical research. The index of death issues was researched from several circumstances. Not only the data of approximate Life expectancy, infant mortality and seasonal movement was reached but also the analysis of the causes of death was made. The attention was oriented on infectious diseases too. The question of spread of epidemics is given into the wider context in the subsequent chapter, which is devoted to influence to prevent the gradual lengthening of life expectancy. The attention was devoted to the analysis of preserved tombstones from the 2nd half of 19th century on the base of fieldwork. The artifacts were assessed from the point of view of artistic representation. The epitaphs were recorded too for the identification of specific persons. The end of this topic was the thought of vandalism of modern time and the importance of preservation of the testimonial of funeral culture. The main aim of presented theses is to find out, what were the mortality situations at the monitored period but also the changes of funeral rite influenced by emancipation of bourgeois society. The connection with early modern period tradition of colossal noble funeral ceremony was pointed out. The complexity was amplified by the analysis of the term ?the Death? presented on the pages of Glossaries from that time and by the excursion into the folk?s habits connected with the end of life journey of rural population. For obtaining the complete view, there was necessary to work not only with results of statistics, but also to consider the interdisciplinary approach.

Česko-bavorské kulturní kontakty v raném středověku / Early Mediaeval Cultural Contacts between Bavaria and Bohemia

Hasil, Jan January 2016 (has links)
262 EARLY MEDIEVAL CULTURAL CONTACTS BETWEEN BAVARIA AND BOHEMIA The Ph.D. thesis focusing on the topic of Czech-Bavarian cultural contacts in the Early Middle Ages was assigned in 2010 to develop the author's MA thesis, which was conceived as a probe into sources and a program study699 as well in order to form the first comprehensive monograph of this date of these professionally and regionally fragmented issues. In those times, the assignment of the thesis assumed "to decide whether there is an objective historical significance of this concept, or whether (and how) the meaning of this term has shifted in time, and how should this legacy be treated in the prepared thesis." Furthermore, five material-oriented topics were defined in order to test the overall theoretical concept on parts of otherwise too broadly conceived sources: (i) a study focusing on interpretative possibilities of langsaxes in the context of Early Medieval row- grave cemeteries; (ii) an attempt to narrow the regionalization of the s-shaped temple rings occurrence in connection with the settlement context; (iii) revision of archaeological evidence from the Cheb (Eger) castle; (iv) a chapter focusing on the issue of Early Medieval elites in north-eastern Bavaria; and finally (v) a discussions on the current concepts of toponomastic...
