As últimas catástrofes ocorridas no Brasil e no mundo no início deste século, provocaram uma reavaliação na relação ser humano com a natureza. Cada vez mais os indivíduos estão percebendo que algo precisa ser feito para preservar o meio ambiente para as futuras gerações. Este estudo averigua a Percepção Ambiental no entorno do Parque Estadual do Utinga, mais precisamente na Comunidade Cajueirinho, área ocupada de proteção ambiental. Como seus ocupantes têm desenvolvidos os mecanismos cognitivos, motivação, necessidades e conhecimentos prévios, bem como a avaliação e tomadas de atitudes visando condições de equilíbrio com a natureza, que resultem na vivência sustentável na área. / The latest disasters in Brazil and the world at the beginning of this century, caused a reappraisal in human relationship with nature. More and more people are realizing that something must be done to preserve the environment for future generations. This study investigates the Environmental Perception in the surrounding Utinga State Park, specifically in the Cajueirinho Community, occupied area of environmental protection. As the occupants have developed the cognitive mechanisms, motivation, needs and prior knowledge, as well the evaluation and decision-seeking attitudes looking for the equilibrium conditions with nature, which result in sustainable living in the area.
