A Conceptual Validation Study of the Rorschach Indicators of Creativity

Isenberg, Victor Wayne 08 1900 (has links)
The major theoretical position of this study was that the cognitive functioning of the creative individual, as compared with the non-creative normal, is characterized by the greater availability of mature operations as these operations are defined by the Rorschach. It was assumed that the "creative individual" is free to use his imaginal processes to enrich his perception of the world. This study recognized that the perception of good Gestalten of the world is a function of the perceiver, his needs, defense mechanisms, integration, and the characteristics of the stimulus-field. When the stimulus is ambiguous, as it is in the Rorschach, the perceiver has to draw on his own resources more heavily than if the stimulus was structured.

A arte de rir da morte: em Shakespeare e em Camões / The art of laughing at death: in Shakespeare and in Camões

Maria de Lourdes Benévolo França 30 April 2012 (has links)
This research has the objective of pointing out the creative resources used by Shakespeare and Camões in the constructions of scenes that brought laughter to the audience. Three Shakespeares comedies were chosen (Twelfth Nights, The Comedy of Erros and Midsummer Night Dreams) to undertake a comparative study with the three comedies written by Camões (Filodemo, El Rei Seleuco and Anfitrião). We verified that, although there are various technical procedures to generate laughter, both authors used the same creative resources: shipwrecks, characters with swaped identities, twins that were mistaken for each other and a play within another play. These resources are tools with the specific purpose of creating a barrier to the horror of death, and therefore creating a mechanism of defense for men against their unavoidable destiny. In this context, comedy is the way for men to laugh at death
