Činnost koordinátora školního vzdělávacího programu / Work of the coordinator of school education programme

The thesis offers a comprehensive look at the work of the Coordinator of the school educational programme, his professional and personal prerequisites for the performance of specialized function. In the theoretical part of the work is defined the role of the Coordinator, described the content of his activity and characterized his managerial skills needed to management of creating of the school educational programmes. One part of the work is a description of the activities of the Coordinator in the preparation, formation and implementation of the school educational programme. The empirical part of the thesis includes an analysis of the educational programme entitled: The Coordinator of the school educational programme. By means of interviews with the coordinators of school educational programmes, they were inquired about their experience with the authors of educational programmes and the utilization of knowledge from a preparatory course in real activity. Questionnaire survey was the basis for finding out opinions of the educational programmes creators themselves on the activity of the coordinators. Komunikační kompetence v kurikulu mateřské školy / Communication competences in kindergarten curriculum

The thesis focuses on a concept of communicative competences in the curricula at the stage of pre-school education and introduces the possibilities of development of these competences in kindergarten. The theoretical part outlines issues of curriculum, key competences and communicative competences in the context of pre-primary education. The research is a presentation of qualitative-quantitative research, which aimed to analyze the concept of communicative competences in the curricula of kindergartens and based on direct observation to find out, how kindergarten teachers meet the communicative competences at this stage of education, how to diagnose them and what opportunities provides kindergarten environment to develop pre-school children communication competences. Based on the analysis of curriculum documents of selected kindergartens we found that schools include communicative competences in their conceptual materials and attach great importance to them, even if these documents have different content and formal level. From our observations and interviews with respondents, we concluded that kindergartens and their teachers usually provide good conditions for children to develop their communicative competences (positive communication climate, proper teacher speech pattern, primary prevention,...

The objective of the dissertation thesis are to conduct the first research survey in continuity of pre-primary and primary education from the perspective of management in integrated kindergartens and primary schools in the Czech Republic. It studies school heads' opinions on continuity of pre-primary and primary education in the context of curricular reform an well as how they put this continuity in practice of their schools. The topic of dissertation thesis is defined by school management and curricular reform. The theoretical part focuses on the triad of the following concepts: management, continuity and curricular reform. The concepts are linked to the environment of integrated pre-primary and primary schools. At the same time, the head teacher's role in the specific conditions of this type of school is reflected. The theoretical framework builds on theories from management and pedagogy. The empirical part focuses in more detail on exploring the role of one of the actors in ensuring continuity of pre-primary and primary education, the head of the school. The thesis, as the title suggests, focuses on education of Geography and analysis of Geography as a subject at Prague grammar schools. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the impact of curricular changes on teaching Geography. Furthermore, the thesis is to analyze the ideas of the Geography teachers on teaching methods and content taught to students in their lessons. The work also evaluates the variety of opinions of the pedagogues concerning this topic. It also discusses their different views on a new form of the state leaving exam. Moreover, it looks for the answer whether the new exam might change the methodology of Geography. This work is mainly based on a critical evaluation of expert materials as far as the school reform is concerned. The empirical part itself consists of the survey results and the assessment of directed interviews with 11 respondents, who are the Geography teachers at nine Prague grammar schools.

Role školních knihoven v procesu rozvoje mediální gramotnosti v České republice / Role of school libraries in development of media literacy in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis examines the possibilities of involving school librarians and information specialists in the process of growth in media literacy at Czech schools. The theoretical part of the thesis briefly introduces the general issues of media education and media literacy in our country and abroad, while the practical part of the thesis based on its own research, focuses on a particular target group - Prague secondary schools ("gymnázium"). Using a questionnaire and five case studies conducted at selected secondary schools in Prague, it conducts a survey of the current situation of implementation of media education in the Czech Republic. The end of the thesis deals with some ideas of how to involve graduates of the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship in teaching media education according to the American model of a "teacher librarian".
