Politika německé menšiny v meziválečném Československu na příkladu Německé sociálně demokratické strany dělnické v Brně / The Policy of the German Minority in the Interwar Czechoslovakia on the Example of German Social Democratic Workers Party

Navrátilová, Šárka January 2016 (has links)
The Policy of the German Minority in the Interwar Czechoslovakia on the Example of German Social Democratic Workers Party in Brno Abstract of Diploma Thesis The diploma thesis deals with the politics of the German minority at municipal level in the first years after the Czechoslovak Republic was established. The relations between Czech and German political representation in the years 1918 to 1924 are described by the example of the German Social Democratic Workers Party in Brno. The case study is based on the analysis of contemporary press, especially the party journals of the German Social Democracy, and archival documents from the sessions of the local municipal government. The introduction describes the reactions of German politicians to the loss of the privileged position in the city after the break-up of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. The first municipal elections after World War I represented a turning point in the politics of the Germans in Brno. They rejected the requirement of joining Moravian capital Brno to Austria and started to be interested in their own representation in the municipal government, and thus participation in the Czechoslovak political system. The next part of the thesis follows up the development of the relationships of the German Social Democrats towards other Czech and German...

Československo-argentinské hospodářské vztahy v letech 1945-1989 v materiálech českých archivů / Czechoslovak-Argentinian Economic Relations in the years 1945-1989 in the material of Czech archives

Kupka, Jiří January 2015 (has links)
This thesis aims to present and analyse economic relations between Czechoslovakia and Argentina in the years 1945-1989 (i.e. a period that almost precisely coincides with the duration of the Cold War. The work focuses on a historical analysis of primary sources and archival documents of the Czechoslovak Federal Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. This material was selected in light of the rarity of secondary literature devoted to this area. To a certain extent, this is a pioneering work, especially given the fact that the archives of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Trade have not yet been declassified and still enjoy only limited usage (processing) in a single publication. One primary function of foreign trade with the Latin American countries (with the obvious exception of Cuba) was to foster good relations between South America and Czechoslovakia during the Cold War. The study of this use of trade as a foreign policy instrument can provide useful lessons about pragmatic considerations to be borne in mind when designing foreign policy as a whole. The thesis presents new findings on the topic and attempts what may constitute the most comprehensive attempt to address economic relations between the aforementioned countries within a defined period.

Dánsko - Československo 1947-1957, Umění a architektura za hranicemi funkcionalismu, surrealismu a Bauhausu / Denmark - Czechoslovakia 1947-1957, The Art and Architecture Beyond Functionalism, Surrealism and Bauhaus

Ištok, Radoslav January 2014 (has links)
! The thesis is exploring art and architecture in Denmark and Czechoslovakia in the period 1947-1957. The main interest was to see how the interwar avant-garde movements such as Functionalism and Surrealism, as well as the legacy of Bauhaus, developed after the WWII. Yet, Functionalism and Surrealism can also be seen not only as mere artistic styles but as two different attitudes towards life, Rational and Romantic respectively. The latter, which is a passionate protest against the status quo, can especially in its revolutionary or utopian dimension serve as a form of engagement free of the simplifying Cold War binaries.

Medializace měnové odluky a vzniku české koruny v roce 1993 / Medialization of the monetary separation and the Czech koruna formation in 1993

Šimečková, Barbora January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis describes an unexplored field of study - the medialization of the monetary separation and Czech koruna formation in February 1993. The thesis maps Czech media discourse devoted to this theme and answers the question whether the media, through its contents, could contribute to a positive perception and acceptance of this fundamental economic reform that actually completed the dissolution of Czechoslovakia process on January 1, 1993. For this purpose the thesis uses the qualitative research methods, the semiotic analysis and the discourse analysis. The introduction briefly outlines the sociopolitical situation in the country. The theoretical part describes the role of money and monetary policy, the technical preparation of the currency separation, including a new series of banknotes, and outlines Czech media trends after the 1989. The methodological part contains specific objectives, research questions and widely presents the selected research methods. The practical part analyzes media contents devoted to the currency separation in Czech newspapers Blesk (Flash), Hospodářské noviny (Economic Newspaper), MF Dnes (Today), Rudé právo (Red Law) and selected program of Česká televize (Czech Television) in the first quarter of the year 1993. Zahraniční studenti v Československu v 60. a 70. letech: vzájemné soužití a vztah k českolsovenskému obyvatelstvu / Foreign Students in Czechoslovakia from 1960s and 1970s: Social Life and Relations to the Czechoslovak Population

Medvecová, Mária January 2015 (has links)
This work focuses on foreign college students in former Czechoslovakia, coming from so-called developing countries. It portrays the students' daily life, their relationships and conflicts, as well as their coexistence alongside the Czechoslovak population. Firstly, it will be necessary for us to pinpoint the subjects the foreigners studied, and then identify university archives used as research sources (tentatively, sources are available from Charles University and the Universita 17. listopadu university in Prague). Besides their studies, this work focuses on the students' life at the dormitories, their conflicts, and their cultural and social life. The research will, naturally, have to be put into context of Czechoslovakia's strategies and ambitions in the international politics, especially in relation to the so- called developing countries. Maternová, Simona January 2015 (has links)
This work is an analysis of a topic that until now has been practically no research, the relations of Czechoslovakia and Venezuela in the years 1945 - 1968, while this work focuses attention on diplomatic and economic relations, it also considers the influence of domestic politics in these countries, explaining the context of these international relations, specifically of the United States, Soviet union and Cuba. The thesis is primarily based on material from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Czech Republic and also the National Archive of the Czech Republic. Diplomatic relations between these countries were established in 1929, after the Munich Agreement of 1938, the embassy of Czechoslovakia in Caracas was closed. After World War II. economic relations were re-established. This was really important because the commercial interest of Czechoslovakia helped to establish the diplomatic relations. Diplomatic relations were discontinued by Venezuela in 1952 during the dictatorship of general Marcus Pérez Jiménez. When the dictator was overthrown in 1958, diplomatic relations were gradually re-established, once more through economic relations and finally established in 1968. The development of diplomatic relations were affected by several factors. The first one was domestic...
