Informovanost laické veřejnosti o problematice Alzheimerovy choroby / Common people and their awareness of the problematics of Alzheimer's disease

FUIT, Martin January 2018 (has links)
This thesis analyses the awareness of Alzheimer's disease among the lay public. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on definition of Alzheimer's disease, is dedicated to Alzheimer's disease in context of social work and in context of awareness. The research part itself includes goals, hypotheses, methodology and presents the results of the questionnaire survey. The final part includes discussion and the conclusion. The goal of the thesis was to find out the extent of awareness of Alzheimer's disease in Jihlava. For evaluation of extent of awareness the range of its evaluation was formed, on whose base a good extent of awareness was found out. The research group consisted of lay public of age 18-40 years in Jihlava. In total 384 respondents participated in this research. One of the goals was to propose some countermeasures to increase awareness of the disease among the public in Jihlava. One of the results of this thesis is a crossword giving useful information about Alzheimer's disease. Quantitative research strategy was applied for the survey. The date were collected using the method of questioning with technology of questionnaire survey and were processed in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and SPSS programs. For testing of the stated hypotheses the Pearson's chi-squared test, Kruskal-Wallis test and correlation analysis were applied. The thesis points out the importance of awareness of Alzheimer's disease and provides overview of awareness of Alzheimer's disease among the lay public. At the same time it can serve as a source of information concerning this disease.

Alzheimerova choroba a prostředí intenzivní péče / Alzheimer's disease and department of intensive care

Ježková, Kateřina January 2015 (has links)
Introduction: The thesis "Alzheimer's disease and department of intensive care" deals with the specifics and difficulties of nursing care for patients with this chronic and degenerative disease in intensive care units (ICUs). The number of patients with Alzheimer's disease is constantly growing and caring for them in such specific wards is extremely demanding. The purpose of this thesis was to map the most problematic areas in the care provided and propose their solution. Methods and results: The empirical part presents the results of a conducted qualitative research which took place in the form of interviews with 10 general nurses who have experience with such patients. Following a word-for-word transcription of the obtained interviews, the results are summarized in a final discussion. They show that when caring for a patient with dementia, general nurses see the main problems in his decreased ability to cooperate, behavioral changes, which often appear as a result of environment change, and difficult communication. They consider the patient's confusion, his negativism, and the inability to find the right words to be communication barriers. This results in enormous demands on the caring staff's patience. The interviewed general nurses however approach patients with dementia generally positively...

Plánování péče o klienty s Alzheimerovou nemocí v Královéhradeckém kraji / Planning care for clients with Alzheimer's disease in the Hradec Králové region

Hájková, Hana January 2019 (has links)
The theme of the thesis is the issue of planning social services for people affected by Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia in the territory of the Hradec Králové region. Alzheimer's disease is among the most common causes of dementia, and the number of patients with the disease continues to grow. It is the increase in the number of clients with the disease that creates a new challenge to ensure the availability of social services, so that an individual approach is maintained in view of the patients' specific needs. The thesis contains a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part briefly describes the clinical picture of Alzheimer's disease. Furthermore, this section focuses on the incidence of dementia both globally and in the territory of Europe. Some organisations and strategic documents dedicated to supporting and caring for those with dementia in the territories of France, Sweden and Switzerland are listed in this section. There is also a chapter that gives an idea of individual types and forms of care for clients with dementia manifestations in the Czech Republic. It includes an explanation of basic concepts such as: social services, social services network, community planning. As the work deals with care planning in the Hradec Králové region, the Mid-Term Plan for...

Užití paměťových testů v diferenciální diagnostice časných stadií demence / Use of memory tests in the differential diagnosis of early stages of dementia

Málková, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
The theoretical part deals with issues of dementia, memory, primacy effect, recency effect, and the Auditory-Verbal Learning Test. The empirical part consists of quantitative research. The research sample consists of patients with dementia who were tested for their performance in the Auditory-Verbal Learning Test in which I focused on the primacy and recency effects. The aim was to determine the differences between the primacy and recency effects among different groups of patients, as well as to detect the presence or absence of a primacy or recency effect in various populations. This study tries to describe a potential tool that focuses on how individuals with dementia remember new informations. This tool can serve to understand how people diagnosed with memory disorders of different etiology remember new infomation. Key words: Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, Auditory-Verbal Learning Test , primacy effect, recency effect

Účinky multipotentních sloučenin ovlivňujících neurotransmisi ve farmakologických animálních modelech kognitivního deficitu / Effects of Neurotransmission-Modulating Multipotent Compounds in Pharmacological Animal Models of Cognitive Deficit

Chvojková, Markéta January 2021 (has links)
In preclinical research on Alzheimer's disease pharmacotherapy, attention is paid to multipotent compounds, enabling intensification of the effect by targeting multiple pathophysiological mechanisms. The aim of the thesis was to assess the effect of multipotent compounds and combination therapy in models of cognitive deficit in the rat. The mechanism of action of the tested compounds was modulation of neurotransmitter systems. The aim of the first part of the study was to compare the effect of experimental monotherapy and combination therapy with an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist and a γ-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptor positive modulator in the trimethyltin-induced model. Superiority of the combination therapy was proven by histological analysis of hippocampal neurodegeneration; however, it did not reach statistical significance in the cognitive test. The other part of the thesis focused on multipotent tacrine derivatives. We demonstrated a positive effect of 6- chlorotacrine-6-nitrobenzothiazole hybrid, as well as 6-chlorotacrine-L-tryptophan hybrid, acting as acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, in the scopolamine-induced model of cognitive deficit. Besides, we demonstrated a low risk of serious side effects of other tacrine derivatives acting as NMDA receptor antagonists....
