Západní hudba v Československu v období normalizace / Western Music in the Post-1968 Czechoslovakia

Havlík, Adam January 2012 (has links)
This paper addresses the peculiar topic of western music in post 1968 Czechoslovakia with emphasis on the official music scene. It shows how western music was actually treated in Czechoslovakian society and how the image of western music was shaped within the public discourse , including many significant ambiguities. It also follows various ways (legal and also illegal) in which ordinary people used to obtain foreign music records in the era of late socialism. An analysis of actual impact of western music on Czechoslovak popular music and the role of institutions within that is also present. This paper could thus be considered as a modest contribution to the social and cultural history of socialist dictatorships.

Komunisté, katolíci a výuka náboženství / Communists, Catholics and Teaching Religion

Pácha, Martin January 2018 (has links)
This thesis tries to historize the phenomenon of teaching religion in the Czech lands, especially in the period 1950-1956. In the first part of the thesis, the subject of interest is the analysis of the relationship between the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (CPCZ) and the Roman Catholic Church in order to create an appropriate framework for the empirical part. The second part of the thesis describes both the CPCZ strategy in the field of religious education and the concrete social practice associated with their implementation. As a result, the study maps a certain imaginary space between the ideological claim and the daily practice that is created in communication between communist elites, church secretaries, local officials, teachers and directors, church representatives, and believers themselves. The thesis concludes that in socialist education there was a certain effort to use religious teaching in the sense of socialist upbringing. However, since the end of the first half of the 1950s, this effort has been gradually reduced and all signs of the normality of teaching religion should have been reduced to a minimum, but the study shows that local practice has not always achieved this claim. It has always been limited by an effort not to go beyond the "legality" framework that could jeopardize...

It strived for a creation of new social order that should have been better than previous were. It is appropriate to remember this, in order to understand behavior and motives of then people. The thesis perceives nature of czechoslovak physical education and ice hockey after 1948 as an integral part of European physical education systems through which modern state applies biopower claims.

Fujimorismus: charakter režimu a jeho dopady / Fujimorism: a character of the regime and his impacts

Rinn, Radek January 2010 (has links)
The Diploma Thesis deals with the character and formation of the regime of the controversial president Alberto Fujimori in 1990s in Peru and his followers' expectances in this Latin American country in the future. The main aim is to evaluate the influence of the president Fujimori's policy on progress in Peru. The main aim will be achieved through several partial aims (theoretical definition of democratic and undemocratic regimes, analysis of the most important turning-points, analysis of several aspects of president's policy and its influence in Peru, analysis of contemporary situation of fujimorism followers in Peru). There is used a historical logical method in the Thesis. This method is applied in chronological sequence on several events. These events are evaluated through the use of the analysis and fujimorism is characterized through an inductive method on the basis of particular findings. The comprehension of the period of the 1990s helps perceive not only a contemporary situation in the country in a better way, but also social changes which have happened and are happening right now.
