Využití NIR spektroskopie při kontrole falšování kozí syrovátky

Novotná, Petra January 2014 (has links)
The diploma thesis dealt with the theme "The use of NIR spectroscopy in the control of goat whey adulteration". The aim of this thesis was to verify the potential of NIR spectroscopy to check of devaluation goat whey with cow whey. In the theoretical part was briefly described the problems of food adulteration, some of the methods used in the control of food with focusing on the near-infrared spectroscopy technique and its application in the dairy industry. Further was described whey and its composition focusing on goat whey, whey processing and the possibilities of using whey in food industry. In the practical part were measured goat and cow whey and their binary mixtures at various concentrations. For the qualitative evaluated of NIR spectra was used discriminant analysis. The results showed that near-infrared spectroscopy that near-infrared spectroscopy is suitable for the authentication of goat whey.

Analýza faktorů úspěšnosti podniků / Analysis of determinants of company’s performance

Jankovská, Petra January 2011 (has links)
The master's thesis aim is to construct an index of profitability of Czech banks using the method of discriminant analysis. The bases for construction of the index are commonly used ratios characteristic for the banking sector whose impact on profitability was evaluated as statistically significant. These indicators are calculated for a sample of 16 banks over three years; the individual observations were classified into one of two groups according to profitability. Besides the construction of the index and the subsequent description of the results, the work also deals with a brief description of the Czech banking sector and its development during the reference period. The theoretical part is mainly focused on description of the specifics of bank statements and interpretation of financial ratios used in the model. One chapter also discuss the basis of discriminant analysis.

Využití NIR spektroskopie při kontrole falšování kozích sýrů

Přikrylová, Iveta January 2014 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with use of near-infrared spectroscopy to detect falsification of goat's cheese. The basic knowledge of goat's and cow's milk and requirements for milk during cheese production are summarized in the theoretical part. There is also described the cheese production and the following part is devoted to food falsification with describing falsification of milk products and the facilities of adulteration detection by optical methods. The remaining part deals with NIR spectroscopy as a suitable method for the verification of food authenticity. The practical part is focused on the use of NIR spectroscopy to detect the difference between cheese samples with different concentrations of cow's milk in goat's cheese and subsequent use of discriminant analysis for evaluation. The results showed that the method is suitable for detection of falsification of goat's cheese and that is why could be useful for rapid analysis in practice.

Srovnání úspěšnosti jedinců v rámci diskriminačních úloh s ohledem na hierarchické postavení ve skupině / Comparison of individual's performance in a discrimination tasks with respect to the hierarchy status

Kocourková, Zuzana January 2016 (has links)
The ability to discriminate stimuli is the most tested cognitive task in pigeons (Columbia livia f. domestica) within up to now published experiments. Up to now, the influence of personality traits on discrimination has been poorly studied. This thesis looks into the differences in success between individuals and discrimination tasks, and analyzes factors including personality traits influencing the success rate. In this experiment, the total of 72 individual pigeons were tested in four linked tasks: 1) discrimination of black and white screen in the Skinner's box, 2) discrimination of black and white circle patch in the Skinner's box, 3) discrimination of black and white lid in a cage and 4) discrimination of reduced black and white stimuli, placed on a lid, in the cage. The criterium of success was set on 80%. In the Skinner's box, the task were passed by lower number of individuals (6% in first, 20% in second) in comparsion with the cage (48% in third and 50% in fourth). The tasks differed in environment and size of stimuli. It has been determined, that te tested subjecs were able to generalise in the Skinner's box, with an expception when the stimuli was reduced. While testing, all factors that might have influenced the success rate were observed. It has been proved, that the success rate was...

Objektivizace operační léčby syndromu karpálního tunelu / Objectification of surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome

Dvořáková, Marie January 2011 (has links)
Title: Objectification of surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome Objectives: The main aim of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness of surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods: In this work was used a two-point discrimination test, that evaluated tactile sensory of the hand with carpal tunnel syndrome. It evaluated the change of discriminatory sensation after surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. The results of testing were evaluated by using the SigmaPlot statistic program SigmaStat 9.01 to 3.1 integration. Results: Research found that two-point discrimination in region of median nerve innervated is improved by surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, it improves the tactile sensory of the hand, which is impaired by carpal tunnel syndrome. Effect of physiotherapy on improvement of the discriminatory sensation after surgery was not demonstrated. However, the physiotherapy after surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrom is important. Keywords: carpal tunnel syndrome, sensory discrimination, a two-point discrimination test

Role of Behavioral Finance in Portfolio Investment Decisions: Evidence from India

Subash, Rahul January 2012 (has links)
I Role of Behavioral Finance in Portfolio Investment Decisions: Evidence from India Abstract Extreme volatility has plagued financial markets worldwide since the 2008 Global Crisis. Investor sentiment has been one of the key determinants of market movements. In this context, studying the role played by emotions like fear, greed and anticipation, in shaping up investment decisions seemed important. Behavioral Finance is an evolving field that studies how psychological factors affect decision making under uncertainty. This thesis seeks to find the influence of certain identified behavioral finance concepts (or biases), namely, Overconfidence, Representativeness, Herding, Anchoring, Cognitive Dissonance, Regret Aversion, Gamblers' Fallacy, Mental Accounting, and Hindsight Bias, on the decision making process of individual investors in the Indian Stock Market. Primary data for analysis was gathered by distributing a structured questionnaire among investors who were categorized as (i) young, and (ii) experienced. Results obtained by analyzing a sample of 92 respondents, out of which 53 admitted to having suffered a loss of at least 30% because of the crisis, revealed that the degree of exposure to the biases separated the behavioral pattern of young and experienced investors. Gamblers' Fallacy, Anchoring and...

Vážená hloubka dat a diskriminace založená na hloubce dat / Weighted Data Depth and Depth Based Discrimination

Vencálek, Ondřej January 2011 (has links)
The concept of data depth provides a powerful nonparametric tool for multivariate data analysis. We propose a generalization of the well-known halfspace depth called weighted data depth. The weighted data depth is not affine invariant in general, but it has some useful properties as possible nonconvex central areas. We further discuss application of data depth methodology to solve discrimination problem. Several classifiers based on data depth are reviewed and one new classifier is proposed. The new classifier is a modification of k-nearest- neighbour classifier. Classifiers are compared in a short simulation study. Advantage gained from use of the weighted data depth for discrimination purposes is shown.
