Kvalitativní analýza mediálního diskurzu pravicově orientovaného blogu cz.altermedia.info / Media Discourse Analysis of rigt-wing weblog Altermedia.info

Bártová, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
The thesis called Qualitative Analysis of Media Discourse of the Far-right Blog cz.altermedia.info deals with the discourse analysis of the Czech version of an international project Altermedia.info. Discourse analysis aims at differences between the discourse of the founding editor and the current one and analyses the neo-fascist nature of the blog. The theoretical framework of the analysis is based on the postmarxist theory of discourse introduced by Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the findings of researchers who are engaged in discourse analysis (structuralism, poststructuralism, Michel Foucault, Louis Althusser, Norman Fairclough, Teun van Dijk). The thesis also examines how specific meaning is constructed within the nationalist discourse of Altermedia and to what extent a new team of authors contributed to the change of discourse. The analysis identifies the main nodal points, which are involved in the construction of discourse, and examines the antagonistic processes within the two different editors. Discursive analysis reveals particular inclination of the current discourse of Altermedia for the neo-Nazi ideology, and thus indicates the fundamental antagonism between the founding editors and current one.

Bonding matky a novorozence - historické srovnání / Mother-infant bonding - a historical comparison

Slezáková, Zdeňka January 2016 (has links)
Bonding is an emotional and biological process that creates a bond between a mother and her child and is among others important for easier breastfeeding, faster recovery of the mother etc. It is important to support it by an early contact between the mother and her newborn child. The diploma thesis aims to compare the discourse regarding mother-infant bonding and its support in our country around the year of 1980, when the rooming-in system appears, up to the present, with the milestone between 1998 and 2000, when the Centre of Active Birth was established as a result of changes in birth care that occurred then and which started to offer a different kind of care from the model that was known and used in the Czech Republic at that time. Emphasis will be put on the development of the discourse, changes in birth and after-birth care it has brought and changes of its participants and the role which women have as receivers of care. The theoretic part introduces the relatively little-known term 'bonding' and its support from the biological and social points of view, then discourse analysis will be applied in the methodological and experimental parts of the thesis. Analysed materials included media communication both in printed and electronic forms available at each analysed period. Keywords:...

Dolování textu na úrovni diskursu / Mining texts at the discourse level

Van de Moosdijk, Sara Francisca January 2014 (has links)
Linguistic discourse refers to the meaning of larger text segments, and could be very useful for guiding attempts at text mining such as document selection or summarization. The aim of this project is to apply discourse information to Knowledge Discovery in Databases. As far as we know, this is the first attempt at combining these two very different fields, so the goal is to create a basis for this type of knowledge extraction. We approach the problem by extracting discourse relations using unsupervised methods, and then model the data using pattern structures in Formal Concept Analysis. Our method is applied to a corpus of medical articles compiled from PubMed. This medical data can be further enhanced with concepts from the UMLS MetaThesaurus, which are combined with the UMLS Semantic Network to apply as an ontology in the pattern structures. The results show that despite having a large amount of noise, the method is promising and could be applied to domains other than the medical domain. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Krajní formulace ve výzkumném interview / Extreme Case Formulations in the Research Interview

Zaepernicková, Eliška January 2016 (has links)
The following thesis analyses the form and importance of extreme case formulations based on more than 10 research interviews. Extreme case formulations, i.e. formulations comprising expressions such as "nothing", "everything" or "noone", which present a phenomenon or a circumstance according to its minimal or maximal properties, can constitute a complication in the analysis of research interviews. This thesis expand the existing hypothesis of extreme case formulations by adding new findings, for example the bipolarity of extreme case formulations. In the analysed data, these do often occur together with different clasifiers, which either weaken (softeners) or strengthen (intensifiers) their extreme force. At the same time the following thesis broadens the research of extreme case formulations of interdisciplinary approach, which uses the findings from psychology and rhetoric. The conducted research is furthermore completed with the acoustic analysis of semantically extreme formulations, whose results show that extreme case formulations often tend to be acoustically emphasized. Keywords: extreme case formulation, conversation analysis, discourse analysis, interview, Czech

Rámcování autismu ve vybraných českých médiích a souvisejících diskusích / Framing Autism in Selected Czech Media and Related Discussions

Zoubková, Alice January 2019 (has links)
The diploma thesis focuses on how the topic of autism is framed in articles published on two Czech internet servers - iDnes.cz and Blesk.cz. However, it also deals with discussions under the various articles, in order to find out what frameworks are in the reader's contributions, and whether there are issues that extend the discourse that speaks of autism. In the theoretical part of the thesis is presented not only the diagnosis of disorders of the autistic spectrum, but also the problems of media representation of otherness or representation of autism in the media. It also includes a more detailed description of the two research methods used, namely discourse analysis and framing. The research section first presents the eleven specific frameworks defined in the articles, devoted to their qualitative evaluation as well as quantitative representation on individual servers in 2016 and 2017. The second half of the empirical part is devoted to the analyzed discussions. In this case, ten major frameworks, as well as their representation on the servers mentioned above, are further elaborated. In the discussion and in the final part of the thesis, the results are compared with the foreign researches, detailed and outlined the possibilities of further research on the given topic.

Obraz vnitřního nepřítele v diskurzu bezpečnostních složek / Image of the enemy in the discourse of security forces

Jeřábková, Darina January 2017 (has links)
The "internal enemy" was a formal term heavily represented in the language of the State Security (a secret service of the Czechoslovak Republic and Czechoslovak Socialist Republic), denoting a specified category of opponents to the then regime. The State Security's task was to protect the socialist and social system by fighting the external and internal enemies, with the security forces having been the authorities deciding who met the criteria. The thesis entitled "The Internal Enemy Image in the Discourse of Security Forces" aims to find out how the discourse of the State Security defined the term "internal enemy". The thesis is divided into the theoretical and empirical parts. The empirical part applies the qualitative analysis of the discourse to search for the characteristic of the term "internal enemy". All of the texts analysed in the thesis come from the Security Services Archive, administering relevant files of the era, and date back to the 1950s-1980s.

Genderové aspekty komunikace sportovních událostí: Případová studie medializace neúčasti Gabriely Koukalové a Jaromíra Jágra na XXIII. zimních olympijských hrách / Gender aspects in communication of sport events: Case study of medialization of the Gabriela Koukalová's and Jaromír Jágr's absence from the XXIII Olympic Winter Games

Jonáčková, Lucie January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis titled Gender aspects in communication of sport events: Case study of medialization of the Gabriela Koukaová's and Jaromír Jágr's absence from the XXIII. Olympic Winter Games is focused on communication aspects of the Czech biathlonist Gabriela Koukalová and hockey player Jaromír Jágr in relation to their gender. The theoretical frame which introduces the reader to the concept of gender itself and the characteristics of the Czech society and local sporting environment is followed by the practical part composed by analysis of the two concrete cases. The poststructural qualitative discoursive analysis has been chosen as an analytical tool. By using such tool the author analyses the proclaims by the sportsman and sportswoman precisely on the social media, the reaction of the public to these statements and the overall mediatization in chosen media. The complex case study conclusion summarizes identified trends which are present throughout the analyzed data. Some of the defined trends might in the context of the Czech environment be strengthening the observed patriarchal social system.

Obrazy nepřátel: Paměť, ekonomika a zločin / Images of Enemies: Memory, Economy and Crime

Slačálek, Ondřej January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with two images of the key "Others" in the Czech Republic in the second decade of its existence: communists and Romanies. It shows the characteristics that have been attributed to them, points out the attributes that were constructed as a threat, and informs about power relations into which they have been placed against the rest of society. The aim of the thesis is to show on what values society is constructed in discourses which create various forms of exclusion of these "Others". The introductory chapter summarizes the Czech relationship to the "Others": Germans, Russians, and Slovaks in the form of interpretative looks into key authors (especially Palacký, Kundera, and Pithart) Next chapter focuses on methodology and introduces the starting points of the analysis in the critical discourse analysis (especially Van Dijk, Wodak and Jäger) and in the foucaultian discourse analysis (especially Hansen). These starting points are combined with the concept of moral panic which is introduced in the third chapter which also discusses its problematic places. Analytical chapters are devoted to the election of president Václav Klaus and they also discuss the role of communists (February - June 2003) and society's reactions to ethnically contextualized violence in Šluknov Hook. They...
