O curso de jornalismo da UCPEL: formação para a cidadania

Sought to identify the various concepts, the meaning and settings on the expression citizenship in the contemporary social context. He approached journalism as a citizenship tool in shaping society and the importance of education in this process. For this, we used bibliographical material, research papers and the new National Curricular Guidelines (DCN's) as balizadoras in assessing the Experimental Projects / TCC's of Journalism students at the Catholic University of Pelotas, formed in 2014, focus of the study. Nineteen PE / TCC's were analyzed and from there, observed the relationship or not the subjects studied the question of citizenship. In nine of the analyzed work issues were addressed relating to the subject citizenship and items included in the DCN's, guiding this research. In ten of the studies reviewed were not addressed the issue citizenship or issues connected with him, as the DCN's. / Este trabalho versa sobre a cidadania, suas concepções e sua aplicação na atualidade. Buscou identificar os vários conceitos existentes, o significado e as configurações sobre a expressão cidadania no contexto social contemporâneo. Abordou o jornalismo como instrumento da cidadania na formação da sociedade e a importância da educação nesse processo. Para isso, foram utilizados material bibliográfico, artigos científicos e as novas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais (DCN’s) como balizadoras na apreciação dos Projetos Experimentais/TCC’s dos alunos de Jornalismo da Universidade Católica de Pelotas, formados em 2014, foco do estudo. Foram analisados dezenove PE/TCC’s e a partir daí, observada a relação ou não dos temas estudados com a questão da cidadania. Em nove dos trabalhos analisados foram tratadas questões relativas ao tema cidadania e aos elementos contidos nas DCN’s, norteadores desta pesquisa. Em dez dos trabalhos estudados não foram abordados o tema cidadania ou questões a ele ligadas, conforme as DCN’s.
