Využití Konverzačních map v edukaci diabetika / Leveraging conversational map in terms of diabetes education

TESAŘOVÁ, Martina January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of the thesis is to describe usage of Conversational maps in educational process with diabetic patients. Furthermore, the thesis compares standard education and usage of Conversational maps in education in terms of effect in cognitive, psychomotor and effective area. Theoretical part of the thesis describes diabetes mellitus and its distinction. World epidemiologic data and statistics in Czech Republic are described. Education and education using Conversational maps is outlined. Communication between nurse and diabetic patient is another topic the thesis focuses on as well as on theory of taking care of diabetic patients and education of the nurses in this field of medicine. For research qualitative approach was used. Data were collected by interview with nurses and patients. Action research was used to implement group and individual education for patients with diabetes mellitus. Information from the interview were collected on piece of paper with "paper - pencil" method. Transcribed texts were subdued to segmentation, coding and categorization. Categories were made based on similitude of relationships between codes. First group of respondents included five patients and five nurses, both from a diabetic consulting room. Second group of respondents consisted of five nurses from a diabetic consulting room. Action research was used for education of the nurses. Education was provided to groups or individuals, for patients from diabetic clinic and for those who shown interest in it. Concrete aims were taken in consideration of every education plan. The research took place from December 2018 to March 2019. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the problematic of education using Conversational maps and to distinguish between this method and regular methods that are usually used. Health care workers meet diabetic patients every day. Therefore, we wish to make the education more efficient moreover to compere effect in cognitive, psychomotor and effective area. Based on implemented research it can be said that most patients find the usage of Conversational maps in education helpful, understandable and easy to remember. Me as an author of this thesis and interviewed nurses share the same opinion. Most patients in our research were educated in the problematic of diabetes mellitus. Having said that, they still expressed interest in Conversational maps to deepen their knowledge. It would be beneficial to get better access to Conversational maps to provide better education. To make progress in this area we made educational plans which consist of steps and action research that can be used in education. Distinct differences in this area would be made with higher number of educational nurses which would be using this method. The results of this thesis can be used for education´s improvement.

Evaluace účinnosti prevence kouření tabáku na druhém stupni základních škol okresu Strakonice / Evaluation of the effectiveness of prevention of tobacco smoking in secondary schools in the district Strakonice

HOCHOVÁ, Tereza January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with the issue of smoking. It is a serious global problem. Illnesses and death associated with smoking are among the most important problems of Public health in most countries. The risk of damage threatens not only to active smokers but also those who are exposed to passive smoking. Abuse of tobacco is clearly linked to cardiovascular diseases, cancer and other serious diseases. Most smokers begin to smoke no longer in secondary schools. According to Kalina (2003) is modus 14 years. Therefore, preventive activities must be realized before this period. School (outside of family and peers) affects education, attitudes and values of the student. Compulsory school attendance does from primary schools ideal environment for implementation preventive activities. That is reason why I wanted to know if and how well schools use an education as a means of primary prevention. Theoretical part contains the terminology associated with tobacco issues, further a history of tobacco and methods of tobacco and nicotine use. The following chapters provide information of substances contained in cigarettes, selected diseases, prevention, legislation, cessation and withdrawal symptoms and methods of quitting. I used a quantitative method for research in the practical part. Respondents were selected from among pupils from primary schools of Strakonice. At each of the schools in Strakonice I addressed to 50 pupils. First half of them were educated and second half were not. Two hundred of students were interviewed together. I discarded two questionnaires. Total quantity of respondents was 198 students. Questionnaire contained 20 questions, which was designed for students of second grade of elementary school. I set three targets. The main target was to map the problem of smoking among pupils of primary schools in Strakonice, evaluate the impact of education on the knowledge of the respondents and ascertain the views of students on the quality of education. Research has shown that the prevalence of smokers among students of second grade of elementary school in Strakonice is lower than prevalence by GYTS. Older pupils (who were educated) smoke to the greater extent (15.3 %) than younger (uneducated) pupils (6 % smokers). More than 70 % of smokers want to quit the smoking. Almost 26 % of respondents tolerate smoking of other people. Impact of education was assessed by the knowledge part of the questionnaire. It contained eight questions with a choice of four answers, only one was correct. The quality of information obtained in the school, most pupils assessed as good or marginal. These three hypotheses were created: the prevalence of smokers among respondents is higher with higher age, there is a statistically significant difference in knowledge of the issue of smoking between educated and uneducated pupils, and school provides respondents more information than other sources. For statistical verification was used the chi-square test at a significance level of 5 %. The first and second hypothesis was confirmed. A third hypothesis was refuted. Most pupils answered: media (television, internet...), school and family. The quantity of answers was balanced and so we can't talk about a statistically significant difference. Survey has enabled me to become a teacher for two hours. I was able teach sixth grade pupils in the issue of smoking. I have gotten so complex idea about the role of education in primary prevention. I was also convinced that it is necessary to grasp the issue from the perspective of pupil, not teacher. The theoretical part of the thesis can serve as educational material for students, teachers and the public. The practical part can be used to compare the results with other works or to monitor trends of smoking in Strakonice.

Zkoumání schopnosti retence informací z verbální edukace nutričního režimu a efektu této edukace u obézních jedinců středního věku s diabetes mellitus 2. typu / Research of the ability of retention information from verbal education in nutrition mode and the effect of this education by overweight middle-aged people with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Šilerová, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on the disease diabetes mellitus. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of this disease. It describes typical symptoms, classification and diagnostics. It also outlines and explains the complications that may occur as a result of the disease and that may be avoided or whose inception and development may at least be delayed. Depending on their type and extent, these complications may significantly reduce quality of life as well as overall life expectancy. It is therefore essential to ensure that patients are properly educated in the right therapy. Education itself is covered in the section of the chapter devoted to treating diabetes mellitus. The practical part of the diploma thesis is devoted to research, focusing on the ability to retain information following verbal nutritional education of patients with diabetes. The aim of the research is to determine the percentage of information that patients gain from education on diet therapy, thus confirming or rebutting the established hypotheses. The research thus serves to determine the effectiveness of education in the care of diabetics. Keywords: diabetes, education, information retention, diet therapy

Zapletalová, Petra January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with methods used for childhood obese patient education. It is further devoted to the creation of new educational resource to help fight the childhood obesity. This educational material has been prepared on a similar basis as the educational material for diabetic patients called Conversation maps TM. The theoretical part is dedicated to three main topics. First of all it analyzes risk factors influencing progression of the child obesity, prevention and treatment of this disease. Secondly, the theme of education is further elaborated. Finally, the third main topic is focused specifically on education in childhood obesitology and educational materials dealing with this issue. Quality of childhood obesity prevention and its specific impact on children aged 11-15 years is assessed in practical part. This part was realized using quantitative research, where I used an anonymous non-standardized questionnaire (which contained 14 questions) to gather the necessary data. The aim of the questionnaire was to find two facts. First, I was wondering where the children got accurate information about a healthy lifestyle. This finding has influenced the formation of educational material. Second, I was wondering what the real dietary habits of children aged 11-15 years are. The survey shows that...

Last but not least, the basic concepts associated with education, motivation and the influence of food on the mental and physical development of children and adolescents are explained. To meet the main purpose of this work, four goals were set. The first three goals are to compare two groups of boys. The first group of boys has been included in regional football academies for a long time and has been educated about proper nutrition in the past when joining the regional football academy and then in the following years. In the second group, the boys who come to the regional football academy are new, have never been instructed in proper nutrition before and will be educated for the first time. The comparison outlines whether and what is the difference between the results of body composition and diet of previously educated boys compared to those who were newly informed. The fourth goal was to verify whether and what is the importance of education and educational materials...

Manipulace ve vzdělání / Manipulation in education

Coufal, Jan January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis describes the topic of manipulation in connection with education. Theoretical part analyzes the concept and related essential phenomena and approaches the links between manipulation and education. Mainly, it draws from pedagogical literature, in its social and philosophical context. Qualitative research is based on interviews with primary school teachers. The aim of the survey was to bring closer how educators perceive manipulation in the school environment based on their experience. The results show that manipulation itself manifests, with a few exceptions, as normal part of the educational process. Teachers manipulate pupils directly during teaching. Some of them consider it present at the moment when they apply coercion to pupils, others as more hidden procedures. They perceive manipulation mainly as harmful, which is why some teachers try to avoid it. At the same time, it is partly viewed as a necessary part of normal teaching. Therefore, the phenomenon of manipulation appears to be variously understood. The unifying sign of manipulation is the perception of its realization from a position of power. It is mainly used with the aim of facilitating the education process. KEYWORDS Manipulation, enforcement, objectification, intencionality, education
