Poupětová, Veronika January 2017 (has links)
Mirror neurons are very specific nerve cells that are both motor and sensory in nature. Mirror neurons are a relatively new discovery first identified by a team of neurophysiologists at the University of Parma. These neurons were first observed in primates, and then later in humans in several regions of the cerebral cortex. A large amount of research on mirror neurons have shown that they play an important role in imitation, language acquisition and empathy. The theoretical part of this work summarizes what is currently known about mirror neurons. It emphasizes the relationship between mirror neurons, autism, empathy, and its training. This theoretical framework is followed by pilot research, which consists of two components: the quantitative part consisted of a questionnaire survey to ascertain the level of empathy of the participants using the Index of Interpersonal Reactivity. The participants were the parents of autistic children who were compared with a control group. A statistically significant difference in empathy levels between the two groups was not observed but there was a tendency for higher scoring in some questionnaire scales in experimental group The second part of this work is an analysis of observations of the interactions between parents and autistic children. Additionally, two...

Sociálně emoční kompetence dětí vzdělávaných v domácím prostředí / Social emotional competencies of home-educated children

Rubišová, Soňa January 2019 (has links)
My thesis deals with level of socially emotional competence of home educated children. In theoretical part I present concept of individual education and disputation of various authors on this subject, characterize development period of young school age and present theoretical delimitation of both test methods that I use for data collection. Empirical part consist of elaborate comparison of output of two groups of children aged 8 - 10 years, each group consist of 5 respondents. First group is constituted of children that are home educated more than one year. Second group include children attending regular educational institution and meet the conditions I determined for pair comparison. Main methods for data collection are the Intelligence and Development Scales (IDS) and my own initiative material made of seven photographs, that are evaluated with the Scale of Social Orientation (SOS). Results are processed qualitatively. I compare individual pair of children from exploratory and control group followed by summary comparison. Then I analyze content of answers. Acquired results don't imply any significant differences in performance of exploratory and control group. KEYWORDS homeschooling, social emotional competencies, younger school age, test IDS, the Scale of Social Orientation

Případ začínajícího učitele na Kavkaze / A Case of a Beginning Teacher in the Caucasus

Šimáková Dosoudilová, Anna January 2017 (has links)
The diploma thesis A Case of a Beginning Teacher in the Caucasus: authorial approach in a school system seeks to depict and reflect on teacher´ s first year at work. The case study draws on author´s job experience at an international school in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. Since this job experience taught the author a lesson, she wants to gain a deeper insight into her own pedagogical activity as well as to examine the options how to work creatively and originally within a limitating school system. The first part of the thesis operates experimentally with a biographical narrative method – the period in a beginning teacher position is being described in a novel way, using stylized literary diary entries as well as authentic ones, supplemented by personal correspondence from that time. The second part of the paper reflects on the narrated experience and analyzes it with the help of pedagogical and psychological literature. With respect to author´s intended future in educational sphere, she addresses topics which require a closer examination (nonviolent communication, consistency, freedom and order in a class and in relationships, a need to remain present and connected) and she searches for sources that could serve as an inspiration for her further educational activities. Method of nonviolent communication as well as principles of unschooling and dialogical acting with the inner partner are presented as the main inspirational impulses. Combining those together with the reflection of the teaching and examples from the school, a sort of beginning teacher´s handbook is being composed, to be used as a good practice in author´s future teaching. Finally, the whole story is being looked at through the narrative analysis which reveals signs corresponding to a genre of Bildungsroman. Furthermore, the story seems to be a story of the quest; the quest for meaning of what author does, the quest for her adult identity, for her place in the society and for the approach to educational institutions and their students. At that point, the thesis comes to the need of creating school system without hierarchy, which would rather be a community of equal individuals where relationships are not built on power principle, on command and prohibition, but they stem from highly developed empathy.

Prosociální chování u zdravotních sester / For- social behaviour of nurses

KOCMICHOVÁ, Kateřina January 2007 (has links)
This work is focusing on questions of for-social behavior and altruism of nurses. For-social behavior is an important social phenomenon, such an antipole of non-provoked agresivity and probably of all other bad behavior (asocial, antisocial) . It is such behavior that keeps social bindings and that makes us closer one another. For-social behavior is characterized by acts done in favor of others without expectation of reward (financial, material) or social approval. In the first part of the diploma paper, there is outlined question of for-social behavior at theoretical level. Here is defined the term of for-social behavior, altruism, empathy with effort to answer the question why we help others, under what conditions, circumstances and to whom. The intention of this work consists in exploration-description of for-social behavior of nurses. The work deals with scale of empathy, altruism and affiliation of nurses in comparison with women non-working in helping professions. Furthermore, there is investigated the ability of nurses to cope with stress and that is measured by means of optimism scale. I did four hypotheses, all of which proved to be right. I used a method of questionnaire in terms of quantified research. Each hypothesis was based on its own separate questionnaire in question form. It was 200 question forms in total, 100 forms for nurses and the same for women non-working in helping professions as a control group. 174 filled forms were given back. The basic group was formed by 88 nurses and the control group by 86 non-nurses. The outcome of questionnaire research is that nurses show higher measure of empathy, altruism and affiliation than women non-working in helping professions. The nurses were also proved to be less adaptable to stress than non-nurses.
