In this sense, the works of Koch (2004; 2012a; 2012b), Marcushi (2008), Mondada (2003), Dubois (2003) and Apothéloz (2003) have been chosen as methodological support to the text analysis and production in AEJA and secondary school pupils. Besides that, it tries to identify in the pupils’ texts the referential types elected and their relation to the argumentative development of the texts. After detecting the necessity and relevance of the subject, it is presented a methodological proposal of approaching reference patterns as useful contents to reinforce reading and writing activities, according to the requests and specifications of the AEJA classes. / O presente estudo tem como objetivo investigar a contribuição das estratégias referenciais no encadeamento e na argumentatividade do texto. Para isso, firmam-se como base teórica os estudos sobre referenciação em Koch (2004; 2012a; 2012b), Marcushi (2008), Mondada (2003), Dubois (2003) e Apothéloz (2003) para analisar a produção de textos em turmas de AEJA, Ensino Médio, buscando identificar, nos próprios textos dos alunos, os tipos referenciais utilizados e sua relação com a construção da argumentatividade do texto. Após comprovação da necessidade e relevância do tema, é apresentada uma proposta metodológica de abordagem da referenciação como conteúdo útil para se trabalhar a leitura e escrita segundo as necessidades e especificidades dos alunos do AEJA.
