Ergoterapeutická intervence u dospělých pacientů s neurogenní dysfagií / Intervention of occupational therapist in adult patients with neurogenic dysphagia

Hochová, Anna January 2018 (has links)
The Occupational Therapist's Intervention for Adult Patients with Neurogenic Dysphagia Abstract of the Thesis: Dysphagia is a serious disorder, often caused by a cerebrovascular accident; in many cases it may be its only or primary symptom, and even the cause of death. The main objective of this thesis is to raise awareness of swallowing disorders among occupational therapists. Despite the fact that the occupational therapist's intervention for patients with swallowing disorder is common practice among occupational therapists abroad, this issue still is not well known among occupational therapists in the Czech Republic. There is also a considerable lack of Czech literature dealing with swallowing disorders from the occupational therapy point of view. This thesis therefore not only presents theoretical findings in this field but also recommends practical procedures for occupational therapists. The theoretical part of the thesis describes functional anatomy of the swallowing structures and swallowing physiology and pathophysiology. It analyses different causes of dysphagia with a focus on neurological disorders, defines the term dysphagia and other related terms, and briefly explains several classification methods of dysphagia. While the first part of the thesis looks primarily into the diagnostics and...

Ergodiagnostika a zaměstnávání osob se zdravotním postižením v Českých Budějovicích / Ergodiagnostics and employment of handicapped people in České Budějovice

KRYSKI, Marcela January 2007 (has links)
This study concerns the possibilities of ergodiagnostics (pre-work rehabilitation), appraisal diagnostics, in the area of employment of medically handicapped people. It emphasises the value of work and being employed for the medically disadvantaged. It familiarises those interested with this matter with the means of a complete system of rehabilitation where occupational rehabilitation is irreplaceable. The study informs where legislation on (pre-work) ergodiagnostics can be found, through vocational rehabilitation we discover more detailed information and furthermore what a medically disadvantaged person should do to be able to participate actively in ergodiagnostics. It also offers a thorough overview of ergotherapy which plays an important role in diagnostics, particularly ergodiagnostics of medically handicapped people. It leads you through individual evaluations which are currently used by ergotherapists in complete rehabilitation centres where ergodiagnostics is practised. It is not only ergotherapists, however, who participate in vocational rehabilitation but a whole multi-discipline team which cooperates with job centres. The practical part is oriented on the field of ergodiagnostics or else vocational rehabilitation. Two suppositions were made for the research. The first supposition explores how well-informed people with a medical handicap are about ergodiagnostics. The second then assumes that ergodiagnostics plays a significant role in searching for suitable vacancies for the medically handicapped. The study should serve as informative material for all interested in the problem concerned. It should be especially useful to those who work with the medically handicapped and who want to have an integral view of (pre-work) ergodiagnostics, vocational rehabilitation.

The aim of this thesis was to introduce new trends in education of people with mental disablement in the area of work therapy. The thesis is focused on an offer of work therapy activities that have been provided by the facilities for people with a physical handicap and the education of work therapists. A qualitative research was used to reach the aim: first a method of questioning and secondly, a technique of semi-structured interviews. The interviews were made with senior executives (mainly the principals) and they were focused on the area of education of work therapists after the validation of Social Service Act No. 108/2006 Sb. Another used method was a method of quantitative research {--} questioning, a technique of questionnaire. The target group was composed of work therapists who are employed in the facilities for people who are physically handicapped. The questionnaires were designed to reveal what is being offered in terms of work therapy within the facilities and what is the determination of a selection of an activity that the client will take part in. It has been revealed that the offer of activities in the facilities is varied and that the client plays the main role in the selection of the activity. The research was conducted in three regions of the Czech Republic: South Bohemia, South Moravia and the Vysočina region.
