Zákaz diskriminace, ústavně právní rovina ochrany práv etnických menšin před diskriminací / Prohibition of diskrimination, constitutional legal level of protection of the rights of ethnic minorities against discrimination

Solilová, Barbora January 2021 (has links)
Prohibition of diskrimination, constitutional legal level of protection of the rights of ethnic minorities against discrimination Abstract The thesis deals with the concept of discrimination from a theoretical and practical point of view and focuses closely on the issue of ethnic minorities and racism. To clarify the whole issue, the work is presented by the theoretical inclusion of anti-discrimination law in the legal framework of human rights law in both the Czech Republic and the global framework in the form of international agreements. It deals with ideological sources, including the historical origin of law related to discrimination. It also contains a definition of basic concepts, which are necessary to clarify this complex phenomenon. It thematically defines both the legal regulation of individual protection of the individual and the collective concept of protection against discrimination and the rights of ethnic minorities as a whole. The main part of this work refers about case law in the field of discrimination on the grounds of ethnicity or nationality and all other forms of protection against illegal exclusion or segregation. It emphasizes in law the exceptional instrument of reversing the burden of proof, which makes it easier to prove a potentially discriminated party to a dispute. The thesis...

Identita v biografickém vyprávění. Případ slovenských Romů z prostředí českého maloměsta. / Identity in biographical narrative: The case of Slovak Roms in a Czech town.

Dienstbierová, Kristina January 2011 (has links)
Anotation Most available studies dedicated to the identity of Roms fail to give a sutisfactory reply to some questions given by the social reality. The reason why lies in the fact that they explore the Romany identity based on culture and culture border studies. This work based on the biographical research is mapping the identity of Roms from the point of view of the participants themselves and their experience. It is focused on factors playing an imortant role when creating and reproducing the Romany identity and when giving meanings to it by its bearers themselves. The work shows that even the absence of any shared culture and social relations in the frame of the broader community it is possible to consider an etnic Romany category since it is is presented as the category not only by the Roms themselves, but by the majority society, which has a real impact on everyday live of each individual who is classified as a Rom.

On the one side there are people living in places relativlely homogenous in sence of the ethnic diversity, on the other side there are people living in places relatively heterogenous in the same sence. Zobrazení etnicity a rasy a ve vybraných science fiction seriálech / The vision on life in the future: the picture of race and ethnicity in selected science fiction series

Barešová, Tereza January 2015 (has links)
The main focus of this diploma thesis is picturing ethnicity and race of "non-humans" in first two series of science fiction series Star Trek: The Next Generation, Battlestar Galactica a Defiance. It is based on the postcolonialistic theory, which is dealing with the dominant relationship of the colonist over the colonized. This relationship was created between western civilization colonists and native inhabitants of newly discovered territories. In the case of science fiction, the "non- humans" are in the position of colonized and humans in the position of colonists. Some space is also given to the posthumanistic theory of a creature being based on combination of both biological and mechanical parts. The chosen series are examined through the method of quantitative content analysis. It has been shown, that humans in science fiction are the race, from which the picturing of all other "non-human" races is derived. Also, in most cases, humans are the race superior to other races, which is shown in various fashion. Values accepted by today's western society are presented as values of all human kind. From these values, the perception of "non-humans" and their societies is derived. Science fiction is also mirroring the problems western society had during its beginnings.

Politická etnizace Keni a její dopady na současný vývoj / Political ethnization in Kenya and its impacts on the temporary development

Straková, Romana January 2009 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of the "phenomenon" of politicization of etnicity in Kenya, its impacts on temporary situation and future development of the country. Through the analysis of the sources and development of the phenomenon it makes an effort to explain the motives of the post-election violence in 2007 and review the temporary constitutional reform process focused on its impacts on political ethnization and minimalization of the social conflict. However for a long time, Kenya used to be perceived as a politically stable and prosperous African country, where many European tourists spent their holidays, the post-election violence in 2007 harshly damaged the positive international reputation of the country. Fortunately, an agreement between the two main presidential candidates was promptly reached and finally in August 2010 Kenyans peacefully passed the constitutional reform. There are doubts, whether they manage to reconcile the latent grievances of the past and settle ethnic conflicts of the Kenyan society to become a model to other multiethnical countries in Africa.

Současná situace kultury sedmihradských Sasů v Rumunsku / Current Cultural Situation of Transylvanian Saxons in Romania

Drs, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
Current Cultural Situation of Transylvanian Saxons in Romania PhDr. Tomáš Drs Abstract The thesis deals with the current situation of the Transylvanian Saxons in Romania. Based on multiple field visits, it describes and analyzes the problems related to reconstructing the ethnic identity of the community, noting the minority's transnational situation and exploring the generational relations, the minority's position in the ethnically different environment or its political and revitalization activities. The thesis also attemps to reconstruct the actual historical development, looks into how memory is socially conditioned memory and lays out biographies of individual characters. Methodologically, the thesis draws upon the tradition of ethnographic research, working with theoretical concepts of ethnicity (Eriksen, Anderson), transnationalism (Werbner, Szaló) or memory studies (Halbwachs, Assmann, Nora). The aim of the thesis is to introduce the Transylvanian Saxons and other groups commonly referred to as Romanian Germans in the Czech environment. It lays out the history of Transylvanian Saxons, describes their negotiations with the state and the framing of their minority identity. Kontakty a archeologie - příklad avarského kaganátu a západních Slovanů / Contacts and Archaeology - the Example of Avar Khaganate and Western Slavs

Michaličová Nováková, Jana January 2018 (has links)
The presented work focuses on the comparison of the basic characteristics of cultures inhabitating the area of today's Czech republic and the area of the historical Avar Khaganate in the time period betweeen half of the 6th century to the beginning of 9th century. The groundwork for this comparison is the study of 10 sites - 5 settlements and 5 cemeteries. Two cemeteries and two settlements are located in the centre of Czech republic, two and two others are located in the centre of khaganate, the remaining two are located in the border area between them. These sites show us parallels between both preseneted cultures. We can observe the similarities in funerary customs and in patterns of houses and settlements as well. Movable artifacts, some of which we may describe as luxurious ones, also undeniably reflect contacts between the Khaganate and areas of today's Czech republic. Key words Slavs, Avars, Contacts, Ethnicity, Archaeology, Early Middle Ages

Neromští obyvatelé sociálně vyloučených "romských" lokalit / Non-Romani inhabitants of socially excluded ?Romani? localities

HAVLÍKOVÁ, Jana January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis with the title ?Non-Romani inhabitants of socially excluded ?Romani? localities is divided into two parts: the theoretical and the empiric parts. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals mainly with defining the terms of social exclusion and socially excluded locality. At the same time, it describes the phenomenon of the poverty, underclass and white trash culture and ethnicity. The research part deals with the description of the actual research methodology, interpretation and the presentation of the research investigation results. The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe the perception of life in a socially excluded ?Romani? locality, by non-Romani inhabitants. With respect to the aim of the diploma thesis I chose the qualitative research strategy. The qualitative investigation was conducted by the method of questioning. The questioning technique was a semi-structured interview consisting of open questions. The target set consists of twelve respondents living in three excluded localities in the territory of the town of České Budějovice, who do not consider themselves, on the basis of self-identification, as members of the Romani ethnic group. The results of my research investigation shows what leads non-Romani inhabitants up to living in socially excluded localities, if they feel safely there and how they perceive coexistence with Romani ethnic group.
