Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka processen av ett förtätningsprojekt kallat ’Storstugan 2.0’ lett av en bostadsrättsförening, för att belysa dels de iblandades drivkrafter och dels bostadsrättsföreningens roll mer övergripande. Den neoliberala teorin med fokus på bostäder och tillväxt inom en kommun utgör den teoretiska omfattningen. Projektet valdes för sin karaktäristiskt höga exploatering i förhållande till en bostadsrättsförenings ordinarie förpliktelser och vad projektet därmed kan ha för inverkan på de boende. Metoden som används är främst till för att undersöka de olika perspektiven som vissa utvalda förespråkare resp. motståndare, via intervjuer och andra tillgängliggjorda dokument uppvisat. Resultatet av studien är att kommunen via sin översiktsplan fokuserar på att växa sig större via fler invånare via just förtätningsprojekt. Däremot fanns ingen direkt koppling mellan vilket inflytande kommunen kan ha haft på initierandet eller utformningen av bostadsrättsföreningens projekt. Istället väcks frågor om huruvida bostadsrättsföreningar i allmänhet ska syssla med vinstdrivande förtätningsprojekt vilket motsäger deras huvudsakliga engagemang som kooperativ förening. Även huruvida kommunen borde varit mer engagerad i projektets utveckling är en fråga som ställs eftersom projektet även ligger i kommunens intresse. / The purpose with this study is to examine the process of an urban consolidation project (Förtätningsprojekt) called ’Storstugan 2.0’ lead by a housing association (Bostadsrättsförening) so that the driving forces of the people involved, as well as the role of housing associations in general, is illuminated. The theory of neoliberalism with emphasis on housing and growth within a municipality constitutes the scope for this project. This project was chosen for its characteristically high and extensive exposition in relation to a housing association’s regular duties and what impact it therefor might have had on the residents of said housing association. The method used is primarily to examine the multiple angles whom select advocates and opponents have assumed, through interviews and through research of made available project- related documents. The result of this study is that the municipality guided by its masterplan focuses on growth of its size (residents) through the strategy of urban consolidation, just as the project ‘Storstugan 2.0’ constitutes. However, no connection between the housing association and the municipality regarding a direct influence that might have spurred the housing association to build there, could be established. Rather, questions like whether housing associations in general could or should engage in profitable consolidation projects, was raised against its original nature as mainly a cooperative association. Also, whether the municipality should have been more engaged in the project, given its dismissal and therefor a sort of loss for the municipality, is also raised.
