The history of photography represents a constant technological development of the medium towards increasing sophistication, which is related to spreading possibilities of complex control upon semantic meaning of each camera image. The thesis comparatively analyses expressive possibilities of film and digital photography with emphasis on the relations of both medium with other audiovisual means of communication. The thesis compares technological possibilities of both medium and focuses on growing integration of digital methods of imaging with new media through computer graphics. The thesis focuses on transforming role of photography in the society which is connected with democratization of access to cameras and the possibility of sharing resulting images via internet and social media. Based on described data the author points out the changing role of the creator and the viewer in the process of interpretation of visual images.

The content of the paper focuses on the alignment of photographic techniques: daguerreotype, tintype, ambrotype. Student will deal with conservation and restoration of parts of alignment with regard to sensitive media - namely photographic image. Student will describe the types of damage and propose methods of conservation and restoration that occur on these types of materials.

Master’s thesis analyses the attitude of young female artists, who mostly work with photographic medium, primarily presenting their art works by digital tools, via online platforms. The intention of thesis lies in examination of the group of young female artist, connected by The Ardorous collective, whose members are automatically perceived as feminists, who insist on equality for women in the art world. It also analyses working approach of collective’s founder Petra Collins, as well as some of its most noteworthy members, and contemplates on ideological means leading to their final works. Thesis also describes approach not only to the art practicing, but to the entire constructing of its own public image, by comparing The Ardorous with the british female collective of alike intentions, Bunny Collective. Hypothesis of designated artists are partly interpreted with fragments of text by french creative collective Tiqqun, named Preliminary Materials For a Theory of the Young-Girl [2007, Semiotext(e)].

Exploring possibilities of dating photographs by clothing of the portrayed person. In my thesis I am working with women portraits, because changes in the women fashion of the period are more rapid and distinctive in comparision with men or children fashion. Beginning of period, described in the thesis is 1841, as in this year the first portrait atelier in Prague was opened, and end is 1914 as the beginning of the WWI. Aim of my thesis is to show, that it is possible to date photographic portraits by their garment, accessories and haircuts within a decade. Advantages and disadvantages of dating by the fashion are described, further combination with other dating methods. Main part of the thesis is description of fashion silhouette, garment details modern accessories by the decades: 1840´s, 1850´s, 1860´s, 1870´s, 1880´s, 1890´s, 1900´s, 1910 - 1914. Also, examples of dating by the fashion on particular photographs are included.

Dieses Paper präsentiert das Forschungsprojekt „Intelligent Camera Unit“ (ICU) der Technischen Hochschule Wildau in Kooperation mit der Beiersdorf AG zur Verbesserung von Portraitaufnahmen in Probandenstudien für Kosmetikprodukte. Das Hauptziel des Projekt besteht darin, Ausrichtungsfehler zu minimieren und die Vergleichbarkeit von Vorher-Nachher-Bildern zu erhöhen. Dies wird durch die Verwendung eines kollaborativen Roboters und KI-gestützter Bildanalyse erreicht, um präzise Ausrichtung und Gesichtspositionen der Probanden zu gewährleisten. Das entwickelte System ermöglicht effiziente und reproduzierbare Aufnahmen aus verschiedenen Winkeln und Entfernungen und bietet eine benutzerfreundliche, web-basierte Bedienoberfläche.

The paper deals with the development of the Czech journalistic sport photography from mid 20th century until recent time. Conditions that influenced the work of sports photographers are mapped, whether it was technical equipment, political constraints or other relevant facts. The paper mentions key events that have had importance in the Czech sports photography. The very beginnings of the Czech sports photography are described, too, to add context with the period followed. Furthermore, some noteworthy cases are mentioned, such as career change of a professional sportsman to a sport photographer. Ethically doubtful practices, once quite frequent, are followed, too. Another infrequently studied area of interest is discussed, which is the phenomenon of successful pictures of neglected events. The paper also provides the reader with a list of the foremost Czech sports photographers, a quantitative analysis of sport photos in the Rude Pravo daily (name later changed to Pravo). Main moments of change are studied from the point of view of the extent of the sport photography on the pages of Czech dailies. Since this topic has not been extensively covered by books, an important part of the paper is based on original interviews with veteran Czech sport photographers, including Stanislav Tereba, the only Czech winner...
