Saved, By Becoming a Slave to the Rhythm!, is a choreographic work that demonstrates how an individual finds purpose through a rite of passage filled with freedom, music, and movement of the House dancing scene. Saved, reveals how DJ Larry Levan gained recognition from the community of the Paradise Garage Club, as one of the best DJs of his time. The work is split into three sections community, individual, and movement. The community section highlights the universal love, freedom, and multiculturalism of Paradise Garage that was generated by the charismatic control of Larry Levan's DJ mastery. Levan's charismatic mastery is what moved the Paradise Garage community to deem him one of the best DJs in House music history. The community section transitions into the individual section. The individual section showcases the demons of Levan's life. A solo, performed to the words of Levan's best friend, Frankie Knuckles, displays how his excessive lifestyle of drugs and sex became the key to his demise. The third section is an homage to Larry Levan, and members of the Paradise Garage community whom have passed on. I title this section the movement section, because it unveils the progression and stability of the House dance community. In addition to this cultural stability, the movement terminology of House dance is solidified. I want the audience to leave Saved, By Becoming a Slave to the Rhythm!, inspired to search for their purpose in life, find it, and live it lovingly, joyfully, and peacefully.

Lobato e Frankie trocaram nesse período de três anos mais de cem missivas1 além de alguns documentos técnicos relacionados à exploração do petróleo brasileiro. Nessas cartas, Lobato, além de se familiarizar com alguns termos técnicosgeológicos da exploração petrolífera, faz críticas contundentes ao Código de Minas de 1934 e ao "atraso brasileiro" e protagoniza a história das primeiras companhias petrolíferas do Brasil. Em outros momentos da correspondência, entram em discussão questões acerca da parceria na tradução e prefaciação de A luta pelo Petróleo, de Essad Bey, Lobato e Franckie discutem literatura e seus aspectos, como os requisitos para uma boa tradução, ou os critérios para um livro bem editado e bem distribuído. Lobato and Frankie sent each other more than a hundred mails4 in this period of three years, further than technical documents about the Brazilian oil exploration. In these letters, Lobato uses technical terms of the oil exploration to strongly criticize the National Mining Code of 1934 and the "Brazilian delay", being part of the history of the first oil companies of Brazil. In other moments of their contact, they debated about their partnership to translate and make a foreword for Flüssiges Gold, by Essad Bey. Lobato and Frankie discussed literature and it aspects, as the requirements for a good translation or the caracteristics of a well published book. The copies of Flüssiges Gold are, for both, of great importance to begin a new Age for the oil researches. I finished Flüssiges Gold. The publisher from here will pay 500 marks to the german publisher, for the rights. We will have as payment for our work of translation 1000 copies to distribute to the national congress, the state congress and more people from the government who don't have any idea of what is the oil. Alder (Alnus glutinosa L. Gaertn.) is a species of a pioneer plant usually colonizing sites in the early stage of ecological succession, such as spoil heaps after open-cast brown coal mining in the Sokolov mining district in north western Bohemia, Czech Republic. These spoil heaps are very poor in nutrients available for plants, yet alders grow in a mutualistic relationship with actinomycetes Frankia, which live in root nodules of the alder plants. Frankia are able of fixing atmospheric nitrogen (N2) to ammonia (NH3) molecules, which can be then assimilate by alders, via enzyme nitrogenase. Thus, in the early stages of succession, alders have a competitive advantage to other non- fixing plant species living only on nitrates (NO3 - ) and ammonia ions (NH4 + ) present in soils. The aim of this study was to conduct and assess two greenhouse experiments. The first experiment studied the response of alder growth to presence of Frankia and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi of order Glomerales. The performance of alder growth was significantly higher when alders were inoculated with both Frankia and mycorrhizal fungi in comparison to when alders have grown on their own or only with a mycorrhizal symbiont - both on 14 and 60 years old soils from Sokolov mines.
