The work describes the character of phraseology of the so-called Slovak Romani in the selected literary texts and in the light of this description, tries to find answers to the basic problems of Romani phraseology. Special attention is paid primarily to the following fields: identification of phraseologisms, description of properties, categorization, problems with translation, and specification of the vitality of phraseologisms. The work is based on theoretical conclusions made by prominent Slovak and Czech linguists found in its first part. The second part of the work is dedicated to the classification and description of excerpted phraseologisms. Each phraseologism is fitted with the following information: meaning, examples of application, variants, synonyms, antonyms, and Slovak and Czech phraseological equivalents. The work tests how well-known and lively the phraseologies excerpted from literature are by comparing their frequency of occurrence in the language of native speakers and by questionnaire research found in the third part. The focal point of the work is represented by authentical examples of how each phraseologism is used both in literature and colloquial Romani. These later may be used for compilation of a phraseological dictionary.

This thesis consists of analysis and mutual comparison of television newscast Události and Televizní noviny. Thesis analyses language modifications and selection of language resources in analogue programmes - with the broadcast difference of 25 years on public television. The work presents lexical, syntactic and phonological analysis. Language usage is also represented by a frequency dictionary, which is used in newscast.

The present study focuses on English collocations and their testing in Czech learners of English. Since the importance of collocations and phraseology as a linguistic discipline has not been recognised until recently, these concepts are introduced from the general point of view. First, the attention is given to the history of phraseology and its underlying principles as well as to the major approaches to it. Second, phraseological units are described from the point of view of their categorisation and of some influential typologies of these units. The main focus of interest is collocations, particularly major approaches to them as well as criteria commonly used to describe and delimit collocations from other types of prefabricated units and their definition and classification. Previous research on collocations in learner English is also outlined. The analytical part (based on Granger's (1998) study) analyzes the results of testing English collocations in Czech learners of English. The main focus is on whether these results confirm or deny the results of Granger's study, as well as on the learners' knowledge of and ability to use collocations, particularly on their (non)attaining the native "ideal."

The thesis is about Serbian phraseology, specifically about a survey of knowledge and usage frequency of selected Serbian similes. It provides short summary of phraseographic history and development of phraseology and idiomatics on the territory of Czech Republic, Serbia and Croatia. It also gives theoretical description of phraseology and idiomatics and it focuses in great detail on similes. It deals with survey of knowledge and usage frequency of some Serbian similes based on questionnaires. It dedicates to an external factors that influence knowledge and usage of selected group of similes. A small Serbian-Czech dictionary with phrasemes from the questionnaire is included. The following thesis deals with the topic of the contrast of phrasemes with a constituent black in German and Czech. The first, theoretical part of the thesis seeks to outline the basic terms as well as problematic points of the phraseological domain, which are of importance for the practical part. This concerns the phraseological terminology in general as well as the terminology of the contrastive phraseology. The practical part elaborates on the contrast of five phrasemes, picked from the Deutsch- tschechisches Wörterbuch der Phraseologismen und festgeprägten Wendungen (2010). These phrasemes have been looked up in DeReKo and InterCorp and subsequently analysed from the morpho-syntactic and semantic point of view. The result of this analysis should provide the answer to the question of whether the translation variants in the dictionary correspond with the actual written language usage or whether there is a discrepancy between those two areas.

The subject of my graduation is an analyse of the language of Šimon Lomnický z Budče in his publication Instrukcí aneb Krátké naučení hospodáře mladého... (1586). The thesis reports about the characteristic of phonetic, formative and lexical side of his language. The main attention is devoted to the word-stock and its analyse from different points of view including the phraseology. The purpose of the thesis is an evaluation of the language of Šimon Lomnický as a representative of the period language at the turn of 16th and 17th century.

This diploma thesis deals with the Portuguese and Czech idioms which contain names of animals and of the parts of their bodies. The initial part of the thesis discusses the theoretical aspects of phraseology regarding the differences in the approach of the Czech and Portuguese linguists. Based on the theoretical platform, the practical part is dedicated to the analysis of the idioms. The basis for the practical part is constituted by the extensive list of Portuguese and Czech idioms, which are analyzed from various points of view, but always with the objective to find differences between Czech and Portuguese as well as the traces which the two languages have in common. Apart from other aspects, the practical part is dedicated to the research of the equivalence between the Czech and Portuguese idioms, to the analysis of the chosen groups of expressions and to the etymology of some of them. The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe Czech and Spanish idiomatic phrases related to family members. The thesis consists of three parts - theoretical, practical and case study. The initial part is dedicated to theoretical aspects of phraseology and determination of basic terms regarding the differences in approach of Czech and Spanish linguistics. The base of the practical part is a corpus of Czech and Spanish idiomatic phrases which are analysed from semantic point of view. The emphasis is primerily put on the research of the rate of equivalence between Spanish and Czech idioms and to the investigation of differnces and common features between both languages. The case study follows on from the list of Mexican idiomatic phrases related to family members that are further analysed from semantic viewpoint.

This thesis deals with proverbs reflecting historical events and facts, which were reflected in folk literature. It tries to debunk a historical background idioms that have helped to shape the nation's memory. It focus on proverbs in Czech and Hungarian languages, which are closely connected with the history as being Central European nations. Historical background is mounted directly on the national territory (including historical area) or in the other state. The first part brings the reader a general overview of phraseology. Trying to explain the theme of phraseology. The second part focuses specifically on individual idioms. Each phrase is accompanied by a brief explanation to the reader to verify that it understands correctly and completely understands it. In the case of Hungarian idioms are translated into Czech. Follows the approach of historical events with regard to their relevance and impact on other events in the country. The conclusion summarizes the findings of historical events in an effort to highlight their importance and their motivation for stabilization in the form of phrases. The object of the work are phraseological units with somatic components «head» and «heart». Phraseological units of each group are analyzed by a semantic and structural perspective. An etymologic explanation is introduced and then phraseological units are illustrated within a Russian context. The foundations of the Russian and Czech languages are deduced by exploration of the differences and similarities of the phraselogical units.
