Přirozená a umělá inteligence / Natural and Artificial Intelligence

Šaněk, Petr January 2011 (has links)
This work deals with the field of artificial intelligence and the interconnected question of the possibility to make thinking machines. The natural and human intelligence evolution summary outlines the starting points of the field. To give the clearer picture of the problem, I also describe the development of artificial intelligence branch and the development of computers. My work combines informatics and philosophical approaches. In the scope of the first one, I summarize different approaches to AI, with emphasis on sub-symbolic methods which are used afterwards to explain the concept of intelligence development. In the scope of the philosophical approach, the text deals with different philosophical points of view on making intelligent machines, which comment phenomena like consciousness, subjective experience or the body-mind problem. I contradict the use of intuition to solve the thought experiments dealing with mind and I argue for the possibility to make intelligent machines. The futurology visions are the last starting point for stating my opinion on the future development of IA and human ability to make the thinking machine.

Architekt Richard Ferdinand Podzemný - meziválečná tvorba / Architect Richard Ferdinand Podzemný - work of the interwar period

Řepková, Barbora January 2021 (has links)
Architect Richard Ferdinand Podzemný - work of the interwar period Abstract Present thesis offers a study into the early work of Richard Ferdinand Podzemný (1907-1987), an important protagonist of a younger generation of interwar architectural avant-garde. Structured around an approximate decade between R. F. Podzemný's studies and the close of the 1930s, the thesis' aim is a contextualized overview of the architect, his projects, both proposals and built work, so as to distinguish his working methods and applied processes in their historical specificity, and that of the development of functionalism in Czechoslovakia. The main areas of interest are the life and career of R. F. Podzemný, the importance of his tutelage at the Industrial school at Valašské Meziříčí and his subsequent studies of architecture with Pavel Janák at the Academy of Applied Art in Prague, the issue of minimal housing planning, private residential projects and competition entries for public development with stress on medical facilities. Finally, close attention is given to the outstanding project of the Residential building of the Landesbank, colloquially dubbed "the Glass Palace" or "Skleňák", and its reverberances throughout the end of the 1930s.

Pozice pražských německy mluvících architektů v Praze mezi lety 1918-1940 / The position of German speaking Prague architects in the period of 1918 - 1940

Kerdová, Lenka January 2015 (has links)
The main objective of this thesis is the description and evaluation of the position of germen speaking architects acting in Prague in the period of First Republic in Czechoslovakia. After defining the terminology and social context the thesis sorts out the broad group of German speaking architects into two circles according to their cultural surrounding. The thesis shows existing reasons for assorting the architects inclining to purely German culture and to the cultural environment influenced by German and Czech at the same time. The position of German speaking architects is constituted by the references in the press and literature, educational institutions, association activities and role of building owners. The thesis contribution is the reflexion of the German speaking architects in their remaining memories and periodicals.

Srovnání vybraných antropologických škol z hlediska jejich pragmatické hodnoty / A comparison of selected anthropological theories in view of their pragmatic value

Hájek, Daniel January 2016 (has links)
The study deals with the problem of applicability of two anthropological theories, structural functionalism and interpretive anthropology of Clifford Geertz. By applicability is meant what concrete difference using of one or the other theory brings about in ethnography. Each of the theories is at first thoroughly examined with emphasis on its possible aims, assumptions, and consequences for an ethnographer. Then each theory is put to test in examination of one particular ethnography associated with the theory. Evans-Pritchard's The Nuer serves as an instance of structural functionalism. Clifford Geertz's Negara as an example of interpretative analysis. Structural functionalism is shown to provide an ethnographer with a much more definite guidance which contributes to better possibilities of verification and comparability of the results than interpretive anthropology. Apart from the main subject, the study is concerned with more general questions, especially related to non-existence of a paradigm in anthropology and some of its causes.
