El propósito de esta investigación fue efectuar un estudio descriptivo sobre los hallazgos tomográficos a nivel del cóndilo de la articulación temporomandibular en pacientes con deformidades dentofaciales clase II y III, usando la técnica Cone Beam, en pacientes que fueron atendidos en la clínica de post-grado del área de Ortodoncia y Cirugía Bucal y Maxilo Facial de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Se analizaron 40 cóndilos mandibulares utilizando sus respectivas Tomografías Computarizadas Cone Beam (TCCB), está evaluación fue realizada por una sola persona que es el autor de está investigación, y fue comprobada y verificada por 3 doctores conocedores del tema. La presencia de hallazgos tomográficos fue observado en todos los cortes evaluados, entre los hallazgos que se encontraron fueron facetamiento, erosión, quiste subcondral, osteofito, descorticalización, esclerosis y espolón. En los pacientes clase II se observo mayor presencia de facetamiento, quiste subcondral, osteofito y esclerosis, así también en los pacientes clase III existió mayor presencia de erosión y descorticalización, a su vez no se encontró diferencia significativa en cuanto a la presencia de espolón entre los pacientes clase II y III. / --- The objetcive of this research was to conduct a descriptive study of CT findings at the condyle of temporomandibular joint in patients who have class II and class III dentofacial deformities, using the Cone Beam technique; these patients were treated at Orthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery area of the post-graduate clinic from UNMSM. 40 mandibular condyles were analyzed using their respective Cone Beam CT scans (TCCB), this evaluation was performed by a single person who is the author of this research, and was tested and verified by three expert doctors on the subject. The presence of CT findings was observed in all slices tested, including the findings that were found were faceting, erosion, subchondral cysts, osteophytes, descorticalization sclerosis and spur. In Class II patients increased presence of faceting observed, subchondral cysts, osteophytes and sclerosis, so in class III patients greater presence of descorticalization, erosion and in turn no significant difference was found regarding the presence of spur between the class II and classIII patients. / Tesis
