Sociálně inkluzívní aktivity na venkově (případ hipoterapie) / The activities of social inclusion in the countryside (the case of hippotherapy)

The thesis deals with an issue which combines social inclusion and therapy by using horses. Its aim is to standardize obstacles whose removal institutional intervention could be in the area of social inclusion of disadvantaged groups specifically contribute to good during the process of thein again return to society and active life. The theoretical part deals with issue of human coexistence with animals in modern society, which builds on the active co-existence in the past. Further the work is focused on the question what social function it performs human coexistence with animals and deals with the problems of the disabled, debilitated and thein rehabilitationthrough hippotherapy. In the practical part are mapped organizations focused on hiporehabilitation location in the rural and urban environment, legal forms and methods of operation. Theprimary research are explored barriers and challenges faced by the operators of thismethod in practice. The economic and psychological barriers have been confirmed by the operators and clients hippotherapy. Other barriers (social character) deal of operators hippotherapy, while other clients have special obstacles. In both cases there is not a solvability of the institutional intervention.

My diploma thesis "Evaluation of using horses in Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies in the Czech Republic" analysis the situation of using horses as a mean of medical treatment for humans in the Czech Republic. The first part is focused on history of therapeutic horse riding, founding of therapeutic associations and organizations and hipotherapy characterised in details. In the second part I deal with specification of breeds of horse and their types which are eligible for Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies and key-factors of choosing a horse for hippotherapy. The final part contains methodology, results of the research and its evaluation.

Zhodnocení výběrových kritérií hiporehabilitačních koní / Evaluation of perfomance tests in hiporehabilitation horses

Dissertation deals with hiporehabilition as therapeutic method, describing each sector and its practical utilisation. It explains used terms and in brief touches on history of application of horses as therapeutical animals. Theoretical part of dissertation describes essentiality of careful preparation of horse prior to its using to hiporehabilitation work, professional selection of it, high-quality basic training followed with special training focusing to work with client. It also points out possible risks connected with selection of horse. Thesis evaluates selection standards of hipo-rehabilitation horses, its coherence and potential correlation concerning age, sex and discipline for which is horse prepared. Since 2011 has been conducted specialization test of less than 150 horses and the results has been evaluated and after that confronted. Objective of dissertation is pint out main requirements which has to be taken to consideration in the proces of selection of horse for utilsation in this field, and suitability of its physical proportions as well as traits of character. For creatures employed in any kind of animotherapy is a contact and work with a client extremly mentally demanding, therefore the proces of thorough and careful selection of horse is just as neccessary together with its subsequent preparation, which is in final phase assessed during performance test of hiporehabilitation horse before comitee of experts. Outcome of such a training shall be happy and mentally calm horse, for like that is ready to be irreplaceable assistant for the therapist and valuable co-terapist for the client.

This diploma thesis investigates the possibilities of using the horsemanship to help children and young people with behaviour disabilities. It is divided into seven thematic parts. At the beginning, there is the definition of the group of children and young people with behaviour disabilities. The second part, called ethology of the horse, describes the most important characteristics of the horses. The following part defines the term hypo rehabilitation. The most important characteristics of the horse, which are successfully used in therapy, are presented in the forth part. The fifth part characterizes the horsemanship and its most important representatives. The following part shows, why is horsemanship well suited to be used for this kind of clients. The last part deals with the horse therapy itself, with its effect on the client, with the role of the therapist, with the choice of horses for each kind of clients. The diploma thesis has proven the importance of the social behaviour of the horse in the therapy and the possibility of using it as a mirror in the work with people. Further, it has shown the necessity of future investigations in this field and the urgency of further education of the therapists in psychotherapy, ethology and communication with the horses.
