In this paper, a hybrid method using active control and a High Order Differentiator (HOD)
methodology is proposed to synchronize chaotic systems. Compared to some traditional
active control methods, this new method can synchronize chaotic systems where only output
states of the master system are available, i.e. the system is considered a black box. The
HOD is used to estimate the derivative information of the master system followed by an
active control methodology relying on HOD information. The Qi hyperchaotic system is
used to verify the performance of this hybrid method. The proposed method is also compared
to some traditional methods. Experimental results show that the proposed method
has high synchronization precision and speed and is robust against uncertainties in the
master system. The circus implements of the proposed synchronizing scheme are included
in this paper. The simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

Cette thèse porte sur l'étude des propriétés et l'évolution de regroupement de galaxies pour les galaxies de la gamme de 2<z<5 de VUDS Sondage, qui est la plus grande enquête de galaxie spectroscopique à z>2. Je ai pu mesurer la distribution spatiale d'une population générale de galaxie à redshift z~3 pour la première fois avec une grande précision. Je ai quantifié le regroupement de galaxie en estimation et la modélisation de la fonction de corrélation projetée (espace réel) à deux points, pour une population générale de 3022 galaxies. Je ai prolongé les mesures de regroupement à la luminosité et des sous-échantillons de masse sélectionné stellaires. Mes résultats montrent que la force de regroupement de la population générale de la galaxie ne change pas de redshift z~3,5 à z~2,5, mais dans les deux redshift va plus lumineux et des galaxies plus massives sont plus regroupées que les moins lumineux (massives). En utilisant la distribution d'occupation de halo (HOD) formalisme je mesuré une masse moyenne de halo hôte au redshift z~3 significativement plus faible que les masses halo moyens observés à faible redshift. Je ai conclu que la population de formation d'étoiles observé des galaxies à z~3 aurait évolué dans le massif et lumineux la population de galaxies au z=0. Aussi, je interpréter les mesures de regroupement en termes de biais de galaxies à grande échelle linéaire. Je trouve que ce est nettement plus élevé que le biais des galaxies redshift intermédiaire et faible. Enfin, je ai calculé le ratio-stellaire Halo masse (SHMR) et l'efficacité intégrée de formation d'étoiles (ISFE) pour étudier l'efficacité de la formation des étoiles et l'assemblage masse stellaire. / This thesis focuses on the study of the properties and evolution of galaxy clustering for galaxies in the redshift range 2<z<5 from the VIMOS Ultra Deep Survey (VUDS), which is the largest spectroscopic galaxy survey at z>2. I was able to measure the spatial distribution of a general galaxy population at redshift z~3 for the first time with a high accuracy. I quantified the galaxy clustering by estimating and modelling the projected (real-space) two-point correlation function, for a general population of 3022 galaxies. I extended the clustering measurements to the luminosity and stellar mass-selected sub-samples. My results show that the clustering strength of the general galaxy population does not change significantly from redshift z~3.5 to z~2.5, but in both redshift ranges more luminous and more massive galaxies are more clustered than less luminous (massive) ones. Using the halo occupation distribution (HOD) formalism I measured an average host halo mass at redshift z~3 significantly lower than the observed average halo masses at low redshift. I concluded that the observed star-forming population of galaxies at z~3 might have evolved into the massive and bright (Mr<-21.5) galaxy population at redshift z=0. Also, I interpret clustering measurements in terms of a linear large-scale galaxy bias. I find it to be significantly higher than the bias of intermediate and low redshift galaxies. Finally, I computed the stellar-to-halo mass ratio (SHMR) and the integrated star formation efficiency (ISFE) to study the efficiency of star formation and stellar mass assembly. I find that the integrated star formation efficiency is quite high at ~16% for the average galaxies at z~3.

Analiziran je uticaj parametara na ponašanje: kompenzacionih pokreta; maksimalne vrednosti pogonskih momenata i snage u toku punog koraka za sve aktuatore; skoka ubrzanja trupa u frontalnoj i sagitalnoj ravni pri prelasku tačke nula momenta (TOM) ispod jedne pod drugu nogu; ukupne snage svih aktuatora i maksimalne vrednosti vertikalne komponente sila reakcije. Za ovu analizu izdvojeni su sledeći parametri: dužina koraka; period trajanja koraka; Zakon TOM-a i period trajanja dvooslonačke faze.</p> / <p>The main research result is analysis of the parameters’ impact on the anthropomorphic walk performances. The analysis covered parameters’ impact on behavior of: compensating movements; maximal values of the driving moments and power during the full step for all actuators; rise of the body’s acceleration in frontal and sagittal plane during the transition of the zero-moment-point (ZMP) from bellow one foot to bellow another foot; total power of all actuators and maximal value of the vertical component of the reaction force. For this analysis the following parameters are considered: step length; step duration period; ZMP law and the period of the double-support phase duration.</p>

Title Evaluation of walking, running and overarm throwing of preschool children. Work objectives The thesis aim is to identify and assess the level of selected movement skills of walking, running and overarm throwing in preschool children from three to six years. Movement level will be determined using the manuals and methodologies written by Haywood. During the measurement, we will focus on gender differences in movement levels and movement differences between various age categories, thus between 3 - 4 and 5 - 6 years old children from the analyzed sample. The sub-objective is to determine whether manuals and methodologies, written by the mentioned author above, can be applied to preschool children in the Czech conditions. Methodology Physical level of preschool children was assessed qualitatively. Qualitative assessment of the walking, running and overarm throwing level was executed by observation. For a record of our observation, we used a digital camera, which enables more precise movement analysis by slow motion mode. The statically placed camera recorded movements from sides, front and back. Results 31 children including 18 boys and 13 girls were evaluated in overall. We have noticed that children acquire the walking best, because all 31 children reached the mature form of walking....

The study sought to hear the voice of the Head of Department (HOD) in independent, non-government
secondary schools in the ACT Region on their changing leadership role and their recommendations for targeted professional development.
Heads of Academic Departments (HODs) face significant challenges by being in the middle of the organisational structure of a secondary school. They are required to be competent change agents for whole-of-school "macro" initiatives on one hand, yet on the other hand foster "micro" initiatives that support effective learning and teaching in individual classrooms. HODs deal on a daily basis with a broad range of important school issues that include influencing people; management; departmental structures; administration; leadership; student success and progress; educational theory and practice; department and school culture; communication; parents; external educational bodies; professional development; up-to-date pedagogy; and their own teaching and learning. There is frequently a lack of clarity of expectations about their role in a rapidly and ever-changing school system. The incumbents have rarely received targetted professional development for this crucial middle-ranking leadership position.
The study describes and analyses the findings of detailed research with 24 Heads of Department and six Professional Development Coordinators at six independent, non-government
secondary schools. The prime focus was on the changing leadership expectations of Heads of Department and, as a result, the professional development required to support the emerging requirements and expectations of and the directions for the role. The study followed an earlier Dinham et al. (2000) research project, of which I was one of the researchers, into the roles of Heads of Department in independent, non-government secondary schools. The study used analysis of existing job descriptions of Heads of Department, structured interview questionnaires that required quantitative categorisation and analysis, and open-ended interview questions requiring qualitative analysis. The respondents were all leaders of a major academic department within an independent, non-government secondary school.
The five major themes that developed were the forces acting upon and tensions experienced by the Head of Department whilst maintaining credibility as an excellent teacher; the relatively newly developed Professional Development Coordinator role; the definition of the
leadership approach, resultant implications and, as a result, the alternative structures that secondary schools are examining for academic leadership; communication between the middle ranking subject leaders and their senior executive; and the targetted professional development required for the changing role of a HOD.
In independent, non-government secondary schools, the department structures and leadership quality can be powerful forces to assist or resist any reform agenda. Effective leadership of these academic departments becomes important to secure a constant quest to improve the quality of learning and teaching; to improve student outcomes; to nurture staff for more senior leadership positions and to transfer the benefits of a distributive leadership to more staff.
