Who Uses Prepared Foods? Psychographic and Demographic Correlates

Consumption of prepared foods is increasing dramatically. A more harried lifestyle, the changing role of women --and men, the advancement of household appliances, and improvements in food processing technology have all played significant roles in this increase. This study identifies prepared food users and non-users and compares their psychographic and demographic profiles. Study results are presented and implications drawn from the results are discussed.

This thesis engages in the theme of pupil's home preparation for basic school. Finding the pupils', parents' and teachers' attitudes to homework is the purpose of this thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on relationship between the family and the school, especially parents' involvement in this problem. Hereafter we occupy with home preparation as organize form of teaching. We describe types and forms of homework. The empirical part we address the attitudes of pupils, attitudes of parents and attitudes of children to homework. The main research questions are importance, types, forms, individualization, reviews, failure of homework. Further we are interested in these attitudes on the first and second grade at the basic school. The research is qualitative-quantitative composed. We pursue to the theme from the point of parents and pupils in qualitative part, the teachers in quantitative part. For this research we used questionnaire and semi-structured interview. It is the form of mixed design.

The topic of this diploma thesis is communication and cooperation of school and parents about home preparation of pupils. The theoretical part is divided into two parts. The first part deals with home preparation and homework. There are mentioned some suggestions how the homework should look like, how to set it in class and how to evaluate it. A very important section of the theoretical part is a chapter about positive and negative influences of homework. The second part is concerned with communication and cooperation of school and parents about home preparation. We map the possibilities of parent-teacher cooperation concerning home preparation of students. Moreover, we describe how to involve parents in home preparation and how to proceed. There are also recommendations for parents. In the empirical part of this thesis, we research attitudes of parents, teachers and pupils to home preparation. The main method was a questionnaire supplemented with semi-structured dialogues with some of the respondents (teachers and parents). The results of the research show that teachers have a positive attitude towards homework and that teachers think that homework is important. The attitude of parents and pupils is neutral. The majority of parents think teachers should set homework.

My thesis focuses to parental and teacher's attitude to homework. This work consists of two parts, theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part contains the terms and definitions of homework. There are a lot of purposes of homework. Another aim is to discover positive and negative effects of homework. A key to success over homework are communication and motivation. The empirical part deals with interviews with parents and teachers. The interview with the parents focused on the main question: What is the attitude of the parents to their child's homework? And the interview with the teachers focused on the main question: What is a purpose of homework? As result came out that the parents agree with the idea of homework and for teachers the purpose of homework is to practise the lessons. Time management v sekundárním vzdělávání / Time management in secondary education

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to analyse time management methods and their application in secondary education. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on different time management methods, which are available to teachers and pupils in secondary education. Special attention is paid to the representation of this topic in the Framework Educational Programs (FEPs) for basic education, Gymnasium and secondary vocational education. The practical part deals with how teachers and pupils use these methods. Teachers are also asked how they pass their knowledge of time management to their pupils. The research is realized in the form of semi- structured interviews with teachers and psychologists. The interviews showed that time management is not systematically taught in schools. The result of this diploma thesis is a description of useful methods and recommendations for their practical application in the educational process.

We engage in the child's school entrance, school education and younger school-age children's home preparation from the view of the collaboration between the school, the family and the child in next chapters. The theme of the thesis is the beginning of the school attendance and possible problems associated with this child development milestone. The theoretical part is focused on theoretical approaches to development of the child, the developmental level of pre-school and early school aged children. The next section deals with maturity and school readiness. Next chapter is devoted to the child's entry to the school. There we consider the various factors that might influence the first year pupil being successful at school and also how he feels at school. The theme of the empirical part is homework and the interaction between parents and school children in preparing for school. The research is the part of the international project briefly introduced in the text. The qualitative study follows the performance of homework, children's attitudes to homework and how children perceive their parents help with their homework. My thesis occupies with the influence of home preparation for successfulness of pupils with specific learning disturbances and behaviour in basic school. The theoretical part there are explained terms of specific evolutional disturbances of school skills. This part deals with etiology and diagnosis. There are legislative alterations of education and it includes complete reeducational school care which points on importance of teacher's personality and on forming of positive climate in the class. It describes family and its role in connection with all risk factors which influence it. The point of preparation determines learning and behaviour by way of concrete forms and methods of work with pupils with specific disturbances. The empirical part of thesis is compiled by method of qualitative research and it's a result of research investigation which is connected to detailed analysis of acquired data. The main methods of investigation were long-lasting structured pupils' observation, analysis of file documentation and analysis of professional advice. These all together and interviews made complete picture of individual case studies.
