Politika, identita a národ. Pohled z perspektivy sociální psychologie: Potřebujeme integrativní národní identitu? / Politics, Identity and Nation From the perspective of social psychology: Do we need an integrative national identity?

Kosíková, Terezie January 2020 (has links)
Politics, Identity and Nation Abstract National identity is a current and frequently discussed topic. Nevertheless, there seems to be no consensus on its definition in the academic community. However, national identity remains a major part of the citizen's life and is essential for the functioning of a democratic rule of law. Therefore, I chose the aim of my work, to look at the topic of national identity from a normative point of view and ask the question: "Is it possible to actively redefine a national identity?" This redefining into more integrative identity could be an answer to many of today's challenges, such as the increasing number of migrants, polarization by identity politics or the growing separatist and nationalist groups within states. Because I chose a broad topic, I decided to describe it and map it from the perspective of different approaches. The first part deals with the concept of identity, where I use Tajfel's Theory of Social Identity in the field of social psychology. In the second part, I deal with the history of national identity and related concepts such as nation and citizenship, which I explain on theories of the field of political science and political philosophy. The theoretical understanding should then serve to orient and lay the foundations for understanding national...

Konstrukce identity v emocionální kultuře / Constuction of Identity in the Emotional Culture

Prýmková, Karolína January 2011 (has links)
Diploma thesis Construstion of Identity in the Emotional Culture deals with possible changes in the construction of identity of man after the fall of the millenium. The thesis stems from Eva Illouz's description of society which states that our present society is unprecedently emotional and rational at the same time. The goal of this thesis is to advocate the intitial statement, that in this organization of society the main source for construction of identity is no longer the consumption of material goods as it put notable social theorists since the second half of the twentienth century. I do not state that this remarkable era is fully over now, but I would like to point out, that consumption of material goods is loosing its strength in the process of identity construction due to the overall increasing living standards and mainly due to the fragmentarization of lifestyles. Considering the unprecedently high level of penetration of our society with emotion I consider them to be the new source of identity creation.

Transnacionální identita vídeňských Čechů / Transnational Identity of Viennese Czechs

Hájková, Anna January 2015 (has links)
This thesis focuses on different forms of national identity of the first generation Czech migrants in Vienna from the perspective of transnational theory. It is based on analysis of thematically oriented biographical interviews with the group of 15 immigrants. The data come from research conducted in spring 2015 in Vienna. Firstly, the thesis summarizes the history of migration from Czechoslovakia to Austria. Secondly, the concepts of transnationalism, identity and transnational identity are explained as they serve as theoretical basis for the research methodology and analysis of data. First part of analysis explores topics important for decision, whether it is possible to designate the migrants as transnationals. These topics and practices include language, relation toward Czech Republic, political participation, interest in culture, traditions, gastronomy, social contacts, discrimination and loyalty, feelings of pride and shame and citizenship. The second part of analysis introduces the different forms of national identity based on self-understanding of migrants. Following this, the examples of respondents and organisations show the transnational identity of some of them which is based on their lived identity and everyday practices.

Františkáni a "divoši. Konstrukce obrazi "indiána" v História do Brasil Vicenta do Salvator / Franciscan and "Savages": Constructing image of "Indian" in História do Brasil of Vicente do Salvador

Kalenda, František January 2014 (has links)
Vicente do Salvador's well-known chronicle História do Brasil has often been studied as a source for Portuguese struggle to maintain the possession of Brazil in the 16th and early 17th century. This thesis, however, uses the chronicle to describe and analyze means of construction of the "Indians", indigenous stereotypes and therefore particular Portuguese identity as understood by a Franciscan author. In its core lies question of the designed and imagined contrasts between the white, Portuguese religious friar and a dark-skinned, pagan and barbarous heathen as formulated in the terms of a concrete 17th century perspective but provided with comparative context. Understood in the terms of historical anthropology research, História do Brasil needs to be recognized as a principal Franciscan source that could potentially counter overall dependence on the Jesuit literature to study colonial Brazil. Keywords Brazil. Colonialism. Franciscans. Identity. Otherness.
