Análisis numérico del control de infiltración de la fundación de la presa Coltani mediante el uso de pantalla de pilotes secantes / Numerical analysis of the seepage control of the foundation in the Coltani dam through the use of a secant pile wall

Jayo Vidal, Piero, Vélez Machado, Julio César Santiago 14 April 2021 (has links)
In this article, a water seepage analysis was performed in the Coltani earth dam located in the department of Tacna, Peru. First, a seepage analysis was carried out using the Slide program, which allows to evaluate water flows through the permanent flow hypothesis, in a two-dimensional way and with an isotropic soil. Subsequently, the seepage of the underground water from the Coltani dam was studied, both in its initial condition and in its condition as a barrier wall. The maximum allowable seepage flow was considered as a reference to propose the alternatives in relation to its location. A diameter of 1.5 meters and a depth of 30 meters were considered with possible locations at the beginning, center and end of the dam. Finally, various outflow results were obtained in the first soil stratum, demonstrating the impact generated by the various locations of the secant piles as an impermeable wall. The main result was the ideal location of the secant piles at the end of the Coltani dam with a groundwater seepage value of 0.00276 m3/s in the initial stratum, verified in relation to the maximum allowable seepage flow (Qfmp).

Jayo Vidal, Piero, Vélez Machado, Julio César Santiago 23 November 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this document is to provide improvement proposals to avoid seepage in the Coltani - Tacna dam by analyzing the technical record of the project, which is currently paralyzed. These will be carried out through the implementation of an impermeable wall made up of Secant Piles, which is a technique used in earth dams to face this kind of civil engineering problems. The research will be divided into strategic sections for global understanding, maintaining an order of information. First, general concepts such as the types of earth dams, their main elements, technical requirements, main faults, soil improvement techniques, seepage, among others, will be defined. Subsequently, the general and specific characteristics, both geological and geotechnical, of the project land will be detailed, compiling the necessary information from the soil study. Then, a seepage analysis will be carried out, using the SLIDE program, analyzing the behavior of the water flow and response flows of the dam in its initial condition, that is, without the implementation of the screen wall. Once this behavior has been analyzed, the Maximum Permissible Seepage Flow will be obtained, whose value will serve as the basis for the different proposals to be considered. The variations of the alternatives for seepage control will be based on two different diameters (1.3 and 1.5m) of Secant Piles with 3 different possible locations, according to the dam (start, center and end), with depths between 10 - 59m. Afterwards, the construction process of the technique will be analyzed, the comparison in economic terms by the execution cost and the plans and diagrams of the respective proposals to be considered will be presented. Finally, the alternative that presents the greatest potential based on constructability and cost will be chosen to be implemented as a solution for water seepage in the Coltani dam. / Tesis

Aqua.Street.Scapes: Interpreting Natural Hydrologic Processes while Enhancing the Urban Streetscape

Rosato, Dagmar 26 June 2017 (has links)
This project proposes a new urban aquifer strategy that utilizes stormwater to create a cascading plaza and an improved 'great street' in Washington DC. A system of urban aquifers is developed beneath the surface of the street, perched atop the compacted, impermeable soils below. This set of aquifers prevents stormwater from entering the existing combined sewer and allows trees to draw water from this new groundwater source and develop expansive root systems. On the surface, stormwater flows through interconnected planters where it irrigates and is filtered by vegetation before infiltrating to recharge the aquifer. At Cascade Plaza, sloping topography intersects the aquifer, and the new groundwater seeps out of the plaza steps, turning them into a miniature cascade, by gravity and water pressure alone. It collects in a web of runnels, pools at the lowest point, and overflows in high water, mysteriously disappearing below ground again to fill an underground reservoir. In this unique ecological system, water flows both above and below ground to mitigate excess stormwater and make the street and plaza more beautiful. / Master of Landscape Architecture / This project proposes a new urban aquifer strategy that utilizes stormwater to create a cascading plaza and an improved ‘great street’ in Washington DC. Propuesta de diseño de concreto permeable, con distintas relaciones agua cemento y aditivo plastificante, de uso en vías peatonales, como alternativa para reducir el encharcamiento pluvial en calles de Huaraz – Áncash / Design proposal of permeable concrete, with different relationships water cement and plasticizing additive, for use in pedestrian routes, as an alternative to reduce the rainwater stagnation in streets of Huaraz – Ancash

Peña Palacios, Manfred Romeo, Laguna Jorge, Robert Joel 11 October 2021 (has links)
The present research work aims to find the design of a permeable concrete, with the best water/cement ratio to be used in pedestrian and low-traffic pavements. In addition, it seeks to demonstrate that use in rainy areas reduces the rainfall volume and attenuate the impact that occurs in urban populations, such as the city of Huaraz, where there are continuous floods due to the use of techniques and methods that cause the waterproofing of the soil. Laboratory tests were performed on the basis of three samples with water/cement ratios of 0.30, 0.35 and 0.40. After undergoing tests of simple compression, bending and permeability, it was found that the design that meets the best characteristics is the one of water/cement ratio 0.30. It is concluded that, for the problematic reality described, the use of a permeable concrete with this relationship is feasible as it has a permeability coefficient k of 0.44 mm/s or 0.44 x 10-3 m/s, which sand equates to a clean sand soil with gravel mixture. Therefore, it will help absorb runoffs, even in areas with a steep slope. / Tesis

Today, we know that the coronavirus pandemic has affected many economic sectors, bringing losses and negative indicators for the country. However, some businesses, such as micro and small companies, have managed to face this situation by reinventing themselves in new projects due to the new needs that arose. Given the above, through this research work we will explain how a new business idea was born through the search for opportunities that were presented and agile methodologies that validated the execution of the Project. In the initial stage, all the members were brainstormed to find out which would be the most viable to generate profitability. For this reason, the idea of creating clothing with waterproof fabric was selected, since it was sought that this material can prevent people from carrying viruses or bacteria to their homes, protect them and can wash it easily without damaging the design of the clothing. On the other hand, we carry out a 3-year strategic planning that lasts the project using tools such as the EFI and EFE matrix, value chain, PEST analysis, Ansoff matrix, I / E matrix and SWOT. This allowed us to propose competitive strategies to take advantage of new opportunities and face threats. Likewise, different budgets were made for each area of the proposed organization chart. Finally, we prepare a financial plan where the amounts generated by the sales of the business are indicated with their respective financial statements and indicators that validate the profitability for the people who wish to invest. / Trabajo de investigación
