Como se sabe, afrontando los retos de la globalización, las PYMES surgieron en nuestro país como fenómeno socioeconómico que buscaba responder a muchas de las necesidades insatisfechas de los sectores más pobres de la población. Desde el inicio fueron una alternativa frente al desempleo, a los bajos recursos económicos y a la falta de oportunidades de desarrollo, entre otros; pero actualmente se han constituido en toda una fortaleza productiva para el país, que según muchos analistas económicos, lo consideran como el colchón social y económico de la sociedad. Las PYMES, han ganado y acumulado fortalezas en el mercado, a base de iniciativa e ingenio empresarial, por eso se les conoce como micro emprendedores, pero este esfuerzo ha estado lejos de ser complementados, por organizaciones, como los intermediarios financieros, especialmente los bancos, quienes los han considerado como marginal en su cartera de colocaciones, basando este hecho en el argumento del riesgo y el costo. No solo de los intermediarios financieros, los microempresarios no han recibido el apoyo estratégico, sino también este grado de exclusión se extendió a las entidades del Estado, como es el caso de PROMPERU o PROMPEX, que justamente tienen por función promover externamente a las empresas nacionales; para demostrar lo afirmado solo basta ver las estadísticas de exportación, que en el caso del sector textil y de confecciones, se encuentran concentradas en un minoritario grupo de grandes empresas; no llegando así los beneficios de la globalización a las PYMES. Pero a pesar de todas estas limitaciones las PYMES, como las que se ubican en el sector textil y de confecciones han podido abrirse un espacio importante en el mercado y que está en constante crecimiento, y que es lo más importante, por sus grado de fortaleza, aun no explotada en su verdadera magnitud, se han convertido en una opción de desarrollo económico. / Since it is know, confronting the challenges of the globalization, PYMES arose in our country as socioeconomic phenomenon that seeks to answer many of th unsatisfied need of the poorest sectors of the population.
