The profitability analysis of Taiwan FPC¡¦s public offer firms

Wang, Jin-kye 11 July 2006 (has links)
The Flexible Print Circuit industry now is difficult to earn profit, because of few results , such as, homogeneous products, main materials depending on import of foreign country, rapidly lower down price for competition and being the OEM firm of the main computer producers. If you are not the leading firm in this industry, you will go bankrupt or make loss all the time. My thesis try to find out which factors will influence firm¡¦s profit by compositing eight financial ratio indexes which use principle component analysis and compositing five industry factors in order to provide FPC¡¦s managers to control their cost and profit. Our research subjects are eight public offer companies, which include Career Tech., SUNFLEX, NEOFLEX, UNIFLEX, FLEXIUM, YHI, ICHIA and MKS. Research period is from 2001 to 2005. Data is annual report of financial statement and prospectus from TEJ, Market observation post system and SFI. We use SAS software to analyze data. To consider the difference between operating profit and Non-operating profits, using two financial ratios, Capital-operating income ratio and capital-net profit ratio, as the proxy of company¡¦s profit are the regressors and above mentioned thirteen factors are regressive. By processing two stepwise regressions, we could find out the following empirical results¡G First of all, FPC¡¦s operating profit will be significantly related to mobile phone volume, enterprise risk, credit policy and the ability of asset¡¦s turnover. Adjusted R-square is 0.8236. Second, FPC¡¦s total profit will be significantly related to mobile phone volume, enterprise risk, credit policy, the ability of asset¡¦s turnover and activity. Adjusted R-square is 0.8328.

Customer Value Creation : How do external factors influence SME's customer value creation in a new foreign market? A case study of Axelent A.B.

Andrade, Débora Mengarda, Prada, Danielle Fiamoncini January 2014 (has links)
When companies go international some factors present in the host country act like forces that might drive the company to standardize or adapt its strategies. The choices between to standardize or to adapt to local needs are of a great importance, since it can have significant impact in the company’s performance in the foreign market. In this paper these forces are characterized in country specific and industry specific factors. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of external factors in the customers’ value creation in a new foreign market, under standardization and adaptation strategies. In order to fulfill the purpose of the paper, a qualitative research was conducted using a single case study of a Swedish SME, focusing on a single product, namely machine guarding, in connection with one foreign market, Brazil. The study shows that the factors that were most influenced in the customers’ value creation were social/cultural aspects and competition, which tend to lead the company to adapt in order to fulfill local needs and to react to the competitiveness. It was also presented that economic factors and market size did not represent any influences in the standardization or adaptation strategies of the company studied. However, other external factors, as technological, political/legal and industry structure, have shown impact to some degree, whether in adaptation or standardization strategies.

Impacts Of Participant Related Factors On Rebar Supply Chain Performance In Smes

Yavuz, Zeliha Banu 01 September 2012 (has links) (PDF)
The improvement of construction systems and management systems do not move together in construction industry, not using the effective management approaches decrease the productivity of the work. The firms both in national and international area in manufacturing industry use supply chain management to preserve their competitive force. As material costs account for a high percentage of the overall cost, the success of a project is heavily dependent on material related factors and processes. In Turkey because of extensively using in-situ concrete in construction, the supply chain for reinforcement and concrete is very important. One of the components of concrete is &ldquo / re-bar&rdquo / and its supply chain, rbSC (rebar supply chain) was investigated within the scope of this research. In this study a framework was developed on the basis of the information from a literature survey and a field-test consisting of face-to-face interviews and questionnaire to determine the factors affecting the rbSC externally and those related to the supply chain participants. The developed rbSC performance framework was analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling rules. LISREL software was used, and the outputs of LISREL were evaluated by relationing with the information obtained from literature survey. The developed framework can be used to maximize both effectiveness of the rbSC process and efficiency of time and cost related issues in the rbSC. rbSC performance was associated with the project performance at the end of the study to reach a higher-level scale. The difference between the performance ratings obtained by self-assessment of a participant and those obtained through assessment done by the others was used to determine the affects of cultural issues on performance. Common reasons for the lower performance were analyzed due to cultural context and recommendations were set down for rbSC participants to solve the problems.

Chemický priemysel v ČR / Chemical Industry in the Czech Republic

Gmitrová, Zuzana January 2010 (has links)
The thesis deals with the analysis of spatial distinction of the chemical industry in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate the disposition of chemical production in the Czech Republic and using the tools of spatial analysis, mainly location quotients and the Lorenz curve, to identify areas with the highest concentration of the chemical production. Further to identify areas with the greatest potential for the localization and development of the chemical production. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the economic aspects of the localization of the industry and defines the chemical industry itself in a broader context. The practical part deals with the position of the chemical industry in the Czech Republic and focuses on the territory analysis which identifies the regions with the highest concentration of the chemical industry in the Czech Republic
