HUMAIN – o designu, umění, humanitních vědách a umělé inteligenci / HUMAIN – Design, Art, Humanities and Artificial InteligenceMatějová, Alina Unknown Date (has links)
Artificial intelligence is a symptom of the future of the 1980s, a technological phenomenon esoterized by millions of lines of code, a spirit in a machine, an artist of generative design, a scarecrow fictionalizing dystopian surrealism. Artificial intelligence has been talked about for a long time, in various fields from information and communication technologies through sociology and political science to design and art. Czech scientific fetishism guarding the boundaries of disciplines, showing what we are and what the others are, where designers have nothing to say about the work of anthropologists and not at all programmers, who in turn can never know anything about philosophy or microbiology. Ivory towers protruding in the void suspecting those towers at a safe distance. The HUMAIN project and conference seeks to go against this and find common ground and common narratives between design, humanities and art. We are not talking about terminological multiplication, we do not want to bring interdisciplinary leveling. HUMAIN is a platform for finding a common language and establishing cooperation. We do not want William Gibson to write the future, but to reflect artificial intelligence from as many angles as possible and to aim for the greatest possible emancipation of people, robots and the planet.

Seriálová adaptace jako intersémiotický překlad: převod románu M. Atwood The Handmaid's Tale do televizního seriálu / TV series adaptation as an intersemiotic translation of M. Atwood's novel Hanmaid's TaleFranková, Alžběta January 2019 (has links)
This thesis examines TV series adaptation as a type of intersemiotic translation. Proposing an interdisciplinary approach to adaptations, it combines methods of translation studies, film theory, narratology, and adaptation studies. The thesis analyses the translation of Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale into the first season of its TV series namesake. While using Katerina Perdikaki's translation/adaptation model, it studies and interprets the shifts that occur during the adaptation process. Applying hypotheses by Linda Hutcheon, it focuses on the film means used in the TV series to express meanings narrated in the novel (such as dialogues, voice-over, sound and soundtrack, types of camera shots, camera angles and movement, editing, colours, depth of field, light, narrative and story time, actors, or misanscene).

Česko-bavorské kulturní kontakty v raném středověku / Early Mediaeval Cultural Contacts between Bavaria and BohemiaHasil, Jan January 2016 (has links)
262 EARLY MEDIEVAL CULTURAL CONTACTS BETWEEN BAVARIA AND BOHEMIA The Ph.D. thesis focusing on the topic of Czech-Bavarian cultural contacts in the Early Middle Ages was assigned in 2010 to develop the author's MA thesis, which was conceived as a probe into sources and a program study699 as well in order to form the first comprehensive monograph of this date of these professionally and regionally fragmented issues. In those times, the assignment of the thesis assumed "to decide whether there is an objective historical significance of this concept, or whether (and how) the meaning of this term has shifted in time, and how should this legacy be treated in the prepared thesis." Furthermore, five material-oriented topics were defined in order to test the overall theoretical concept on parts of otherwise too broadly conceived sources: (i) a study focusing on interpretative possibilities of langsaxes in the context of Early Medieval row- grave cemeteries; (ii) an attempt to narrow the regionalization of the s-shaped temple rings occurrence in connection with the settlement context; (iii) revision of archaeological evidence from the Cheb (Eger) castle; (iv) a chapter focusing on the issue of Early Medieval elites in north-eastern Bavaria; and finally (v) a discussions on the current concepts of toponomastic...
