Analýza stravování seniorů s diabetes mellitus II.typu / Analysis of eating seniors with diabetes mellitus II.typePETRUSOVÁ, Lenka January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with the analysis of eating habits of seniors with Diabetes mellitus type 2. Many seniors with Diabetes mellitus type 2 are introduced to a proper diet either through their Doctor or a nutrition therapist. This diabetic diet assists them in maintaining proper blood glucose levels and helps prevent a variety of diabetic complications. Many diabetics, who understand their illness, begin to make changes in their lifestyles that will help them in the future. More thought is put into their lifestyle and how to improve their quality of life. For example, many diabetics become more active, begin to be more diligent with their dietary choices and discover a new meaning of life.

Náklady na terapii Diabetes mellitus a jeho pozdní komplikace / The Cost of Therapy Diabetes Mellitus and its late ComplicationsHladíková, Eva January 2011 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to one of the most serious diseases of the 21st century. Diabetes mellitus is a disease which affects millions of people around the world. The work is divided into two main units. The first part deals with basic theoretical knowledge about this disease. It deals with the history, classification of diabetes and its treatment. Also deals with the complications associated with diabetes and diabetic educating themselves. The second section provides a practical demonstration run diabetes clinic. The aim of this work is to estimate the cost of treatment of diabetes mellitus I. and II. type and estimated cost of the treatment of late complications of the disease.

Fenomén non-compliance pacienta s diagnózou diabetes mellitus / A study of non-compliance phenomenon among patients with diagnosis of diabetes mellitusPohlová, Simona January 2009 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on the study of the phenomenon of the non-compliance, or more specifically on the study of the phenomenon of the non-compliance of patients with diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. The theoretical part contains a discussion of the phenomenon of the non-compliance, of a problematics of the diabetes mellitus and associated complications and comorbidities. The practical part is based on the statistical evaluation of the specifically prepared survey of patients of the private ambulance of diabetology and endocrinology in Trutnov. The results of survey were processed to obtain contingency tables, and then the correlations between individual aspects of compliance or non-compliance were studied using statistical correlation analysis.

Inzulinu podobné a jiné růstové faktory a nádory / Insulin like and other growth factors and tumorsKučera, Radek January 2011 (has links)
Inzulinu podobné a jiné růstové faktory a nádory Insulin like and other growth factors and tumors Disertační práce Plzeň 2011 Mgr. Radek Kučera Summary The interaction between growth factors and cancer incidence and development has been discussed recently. First works suggesting possible connection between increased production of insulin like growth factors with an increased incidence of tumors came already from early 80s of the last century. The aim of my work was focused on evaluation of possible relation between insulin like growth factors or their binding proteins and tumors from different perspectives, to assess their significance and try to determine what role the IGFs and IGFBPs may play in the current tumor diagnostics. The work itself is divided into two parts, the theoretical and practical ones. In the theoretical part, I summarized the action of IGF in human body and also focused on previous findings on the role of IGF system in cancer diagnoses. In the practical part, divided into three subsections, I focused on investigation of relations in a large set of patients with different cancer diagnoses, in a group of women with breast cancer and, finally, I focused on changes of IGF1 levels during follow-up. Theoretical part Insulin-like growth factors (IGF) are peptides, that participate on growth...

Vysokohorská turistika u diabetiků s inzulinovou pumpou / Mountain trekking in diabetic patients treated with an insulin pumpBytelová, Sophie January 2018 (has links)
Title: Mountain tourism for diabetics with an insulin pump Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out whether it is suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus treated with an insulin pump to undergo physical activity in the form of mountain tourism, as the more intense physical aktivity affects blood glucose levels and whether patients are able to work with advanced insulin pump functions. Methods: The work is conceived as an observational study of the Medtronic educational project. One day mountain hike trip of a distance about 30 km was attended by 40 patients (men and women) with diabetes aged 15-25 years. Non-invasive methods were used. The data was obtained by monitoring insulin pump probes, glucometers and continuous monitoring, which were further evaluated using the CareLink Pro software. Results: Physical activity in the form of mountain tourism is suitable for patients with DM1 treated on an insulin pump. 80% of the probands did not have a risk status of hypoglycaemia, and even though the determined normoglycemia for research was performed by a larger number of adults as opposed to children, this FA has a demonstrable effect on blood glucose levels. It also brings positive benefits for patients because they learn how to work better with advanced insulin pump functions....

Nízkosacharidová strava v léčbě diabetes mellitus 1. typu / Low-carbohydrate diet in diabetes mellitus type 1 treatmentNěmečková, Monika January 2021 (has links)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the influence of a low-carbohydrate diet on the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus. It is an autoimmune disease for which it is necessary for patients to administer insulin. The selection of suitable sports activities, good health and mental condition and, above all, the adjustment of eating habits also contribute to the successful compensation of diabetes. This work demonstrates a low-carbohydrate diet as one of the possibilities diabetics can eat. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part briefly describes the disease and presents the recommended and a low- carbohydrate diet. The following section also addresses physical activity. It describes the issues of sports for people with diabetes who are on a regular diet, as well as on low-carbohydrate diet. The practical part shows the results of glucose sensors (Free Style Libre, Dexcom G6 and Medtronic), which continuously measure blood sugar levels. In the practical part, eight respondents with type 1 diabetes, who switched the recommended diet for a low-carbohydrate diet, were surveyed in the form of a questionnaire. The purpose of the questionnaire was to assess the effects of switching to a low- carbohydrate diet on: the compensation of diabetes; the frequency of...

Studium interakce inzulinu, IGF-1/2 a analogu IGF-1 s receptory inzulinu a IGF-1 / Interaction studies of insulin, IGF-1/2 and IGF-1 analogue with insulin and IGF-1 receptorsChrudinová, Martina January 2014 (has links)
Insulin-like growth factors 1 and 2 (IGF-1/2) are single-chain peptides exerting homology (in both amino-acid sequence and tertiary structure) to insulin. The main function of these peptides is promoting celular growth, proliferation and differentiation. Both insulin and insulin-like growth factors mediate their function through membrane receptors - insulin receptor (isoforms A and B) and IGF-1 receptor. All these receptors are members of the tyrosinkinase family of receptors and they exert the same subunit and domain composition. The activation of insulin and IGF-1 receptors is tightly associated with activation of two intracellular signaling pathways. The PI3-K/Akt pathway is involved in the glucose transport to the cell, induction of proliferation or inhibition of apoptosis, while the Ras/MAPK pathway is involved mainly in the induction of cell growth and differentiation. Due to the structure similarity in both the ligands and receptors, every ligand can activate different receptors (with different potency) and the signaling pathways associated with these receptors. Thus, the functions of IGFs and insulin, the same as their receptors, are overlapping. The distinct function of the concrete ligand can be distinguished by the different tissue distribution of both isoforms of insulin receptor and...
